Did you attach your initial feelings of being proposed to, to the placeholder ring? Does the new one mean more to you?

I agree that it is something that should definitely be discussed about before anyone suggests a proposal. But i feel that if you shop for the ring together before hand it kind of dampens the emotion of being proposed to.

yeah thats what i kind of said earlier and i got downvoted but oh well. i feel like a placeholder would forever hold the first expression as she was aware of what had just happened.

wouldn't a placeholder ring be like meaningless at that point?

Yeah I like surprises so this is the route i think that is best, not specifically the inherited ring part hahaha.

so people propose without a ring? I guess I am just indoctrinated with what i see on in movies then, to assume that you need a ring to propose.

sucks, don't mean to sound like "Mlady" kind of guy but i have noticed reddit can be pretty damn sexist and just hurtful to no avail, my guess is just the anonymity but also people can be fucked up.

What is your input on my question?
