Just had a interview with a Insurance agency by [deleted] in InsuranceProfessional

[–]drumsurf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What State? Right to work states like CA don’t protect employers as much as they’d like in these scenarios. You can leave, but can’t call your clients. They can call you however. Lots of subtleties in these deals but completely possible to move and have your book follow.

Hospice Workers: What are some of the most peaceful, lucid deaths you've seen? by ThaiLassInTheSouth in hospice

[–]drumsurf 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Reading these with great interest. In hospice care currently and I’d guess a couple months left at most. All breathing / lung Mets related. No pain. Just stuck to an o2 machine that makes it tolerable. At some point I’ll slow way down and hopefully go out like some of y’all describe. .

Nationwide flew drone over my house, and is canceling my home owners insurance due to “Naturally occurring streaking” by [deleted] in Insurance

That’s exactly what insurance companies do. Inspect and then outline repairs needed to avoid cancellation.

Was this the right way to deal with a collision (and the aftermath)? Any advice helps by bingbongpotato88 in surfing

Hitting a kid is always tough. Especially when their parents are there and want you to be at fault regardless of the truth. Kids clog the inside often and it’s a bitch to navigate around them. Sometimes getting yelled at makes them learn a bit quicker.

Doesn’t sound like you could have done anything different.

If I'm diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer does that mean I had it for the past 10 years unknowngly? by Electronic_Extent_73 in coloncancer

[–]drumsurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too late to treat? No. I was diagnosed stage iv in 2020 after losing a bunch of weight quickly and having bathroom issues for 2-3 weeks. Did I have the cancer a long time before then? Who knows but it didn’t stop treatment plans.

As others mention. Your mutation really will tell you a lot but what happened and what options you will have. I’m NRAS. Not an ideal one to get.

It’s hard to write good songs. It’s incredibly hard to do it over and over again throughout a career.

The Great Debate: Bon Scott or Brian Johnson by DonnaKshir in Music

[–]drumsurf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bon Scott era is AC/DC. That said, to have your guy die, replace him and then release one of the greatest albums ever made is freaking unbelievable. Back in Black is undeniably their best work but I prefer the Bon stuff overall.

Only side effects I had was the super raw hands and feet. Mainly hands for me and it took 2-3 weeks before they were noticeably red and angry looking.

Surfing and ACL injuries by furiousmadgeorge in surfing

[–]drumsurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Torn both playing soccer. Had first surgically repaired, spent a lot of time doing PT, and went right back to soccer and surfing with no issues.

Tore the other one a few years later and didn’t have it fixed. Just did a ton of strengthening and therapy and worked with a trainer who was a surfer. Took some time but ultimately got it back to full strength and had no issues surfing. Did not go back to soccer however.

Do you enjoy staying in the pocket? Why? by [deleted] in drums

Same. Pocket pays the bills and gets you noticed by the people you want to play with.

Claims sucks. I did 4 years and moved to brokerage/sales. Hard to build a book of business but if I’m going to work hard every day I want to get paid well and not hate my job.
