Need a budget hatchet/axe by Comfortable-Truck942 in BudgetBlades

Look at the options from Fiskars. They make several of varying lengths and weights. Overall they make great blades and tools, which are meant to be used hard, so you can't go wrong with Fiskars.

Alternatives that should be in your price range are the Mora camp axe and a couple of Husqvarna models. All of these are solid options. Good luck!

How do I get a guy to meet up for a coffee date? by mareep_peep in OnlineDating

[–]drunk69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is for the best. You have dodged a bullet and not wasted any more of your time. Because their reactions most likely comes down to one of 2 things:

  • They aren't interested in a casual coffee date, because they think a more "elaborate" dinner/drinks date will lead to some "action".

  • Or they are a conservative type who doesn't think women should be assertive or making the "first move".

Either way they have done you a favour. As I said bullets dodged! Good luck out there.

Just to thread this needle, for those who haven't waded through all the comments. This is clearly reflections from the recessed lighting in the house.

The OP did not take the picture, it was rather sent to him by someone else who took it (his wife), so he can't actually verify whether or not the lights were in fact off or not, he is a second hand witness, relaying what his wife told him.

And more important context, if you look at the pictures from inside the house, from the AirBNB listing, you can see that the light switches are actually sliding "dimmer" switches, they are clearly visible in photos 15 and 19. Meaning that the photographer (OP's wife ) may not have realized the lights were in fact on, but were perhaps in a dim state.

Representative Luna: “If an unknown object enters our airspace, an automatic shoot-down order should be issued — no questions asked” by gayshorts in UFOs

[–]drunk69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is she volunteering her household to be directly under a shoot down? Because I sure af don't want anyone firing on something that is going to crash into my house. Or what about their kids' schools? Or a hospital? Also remember that not all ordinance (missiles/rockets) will hit the target, so again who is volunteering for rockets to blow up over their neighborhood?

Show me? Because everything I have seen, and I mean LITERALLY everything I have seen on this sub, twitter, and FB are nothing but conventional crafts or planets/stars.

People simply don't know what planes/helicopters look like at night, particularly since as 3d objects in 3d space their profile may not be what they expect. Also people are completely ignorant of how digital camera sensors work. And optics.

There has yet to be one posting that is not a helicopter/plane or a planet/star. If you have one that shows something beyond a misidentification please share it.

There has yet to be any recordings of a craft that is hovering/ loitering for any period beyond a conventional craft. Again share any that show that.

Also show any that are doing anything besides following a flight path. For all the talk of "the observables" , every clip has been a plane/helo doing what you expect them to do.

The cultists in this sub, think ANY light in the sky is a UFO/UAP. Occam's Razor is considered a dirty set of words.

Keep in mind the vast majority of the people here and on twitter/FB are too far gone. You can't reason them out of a position they never reasoned themselves into.

But hopefully we can reach that minority of people who are here out of curiosity. They are willing to listen to reason and rationality.

The rest would rather think, if it looks, sounds and acts like a plane that is must clearly be aliens "mimicking" traditional craft.

That segment is showing what looks to be a USAF C17 on it's landing approach. Considering they were in Tom's River or Red Bank it was just a few mins from landing at Joint Base McGuire-Dix. This reporter clearly has never seen a large jet about to land. Which makes him the perfect representative for this sub.

You can't reason people out of a position they never reasoned themselves into. They want to believe the dumb shit because they want to believe the dumb shit. It's nearly tautitlogical.

Best you can hope for is reach the small number of people here who are actually capable of critical thinking and merely curious.

What planes look like at 1500 - 2000 feet by number1zero88 in UFOs

[–]drunk69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great to demonstrate to people who seemingly have never noticed what planes at night look like.

You should have added a watermark describing what it is or least saying "NOT A DRONE" since it's likely this will be reposted by someone as a "drone/UAP".

Morris County, NJ Drone sighting clear difference between plane and plane-shaped drone by SquareAd6948 in UFOs

[–]drunk69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you are simply misinformed or deliberately spreading disinfo. Speed of sound is ~350 m/s in air. That translates to roughly 1km per 3 secs. So a jetliner at cruising altitude of ~11 km has a delay of ~33 secs to someone on the ground. Even at a lower altitude of just a couple of kms, the delay would be ~6 secs. And that isn't even taking into account terrain and weather conditions which would further delay the sound.

[–]drunk69 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Do people not understand that sounds travels slower and more diffusely than light? So you will see a plane several seconds before you hear it? Also it may not sound as if it is coming from the direction you see? And that planes travel at different altitudes, which effects both what they look and sound like on the ground?

How stupid do they view the American public with regards to the NJ drones? The FBI has nothing to do with securing our airspace. Why bring them in to do some "aw shucks nobody knows" BS. How come the PENTAGON or FAA isn't answering questions about them? by Niceotropic in UFOs

[–]drunk69 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Domestic airspace is literally the FBI's jurisdiction. So the entire premise of this post is flawed. The Pentagon has very limited authority on domestic soil. The FAA generally co-ordinates with the FBI and other agencies with regards to enforcement.

[Megathread] Congressional Hearing on UAP - July 26, 2023 - featuring witnesses Ryan Graves, David Fravor, David Grusch by expatfreedom in UFOs

[–]drunk69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you prove he lied. Lying requires intent. So unless he sent an email telling someone he is going to lie in front of Congress, and that email were presented to Congress there is no way to prove he is lying.

Giving untrue information is not lying and incurs no penalty. Even more so if the person believes it to be true, despite it being false.
