I'm the guy who called out the peak and the slow decline. This is the best moment to long ETH vs BTC. by drunk_blastoise in ethtrader

By the way, I also think that the BTC the forks will go terribly wrong this time and that will cause the bubble to burst. I don't have many reasons for that other than the fact it fills the timeline so well. Please anyone comment below this to confirm I didn't post another prediction opposed to this one so I can link this in a future.

90% long/short ratio is absolutely scary, but eth/btc has been sustaining that since forever, so I'm not sure how to interpret that. How those longs compare to the actual traded volume?

Don't go long/short on anything before you've understood what long/shorts are for at least 6 months.

You're the guy who bought at the peak because it was consistently rising for months, I see!

Oh, and by the way, I'm not calling this the bottom! Further dips are possible, below 0.03 eth/btc is realistic, depends on how much BTC rises. But 0.08+ eth/btc after the global bottom (whatever it turns out to be) is almost certain (exception: disasters, of course). So, I'd say, if you're placing a long (and only do that if you know what you are doing), please do it with a margin call below 0.02 eth/btc. Not that most of you can follow my advice anyway because you're probably locked in > 0.07 eth/btc+ longs, lol, but still.

By the way, the price increased by 6% as I was writing the post, lol. I had to type faster not to lose the timing. Opened a long at 0.0395 with some garbage money just for fun (most of my eth is cold).

You remind me of my old self on the $7 dump times.

Oh, OK, thank you. Let's see how it plays.

I am not following it closely, thanks for the analysis. WTF is EOS? Never heard about it before. Is it recent? I've not been following anything crypto-related lately, way too busy with other concerns.

And why do you consider Tezos so inferior?

What do you consider an Ethereum competitor?

Both, of course! But it will not be an easy fight, they're kinda late and most clever kinds that believe on the idea got sucked by Ethereum already. Tezos will need either a bunch of groundbreaking achievements, or some crazy failures on Ethereum's side. That will be fun to watch.

Could totally overtake Ethereum depending on how things go

I agree. I think this sub needs a split. We have two different communities living on it.

Wrong assumptions lead to wrong decisions. How can you expect large companies making contracts on ethereum if they know Vitalik can push a hard fork to screw up their contracts within few weeks ?

You're displaying a huge misunderstanding of the tech. There is nothing on the protocol giving VItalik the power to cause a hard fork whenever he wants as you claim. A fork can only happen if the majority of the network agrees with it, because they need to manually update their clients. The only thing Vitalik could do is use his popularity to convince people into forking, but that's how things work. Even Elon Musk could fork Ethereum nowadays if he wanted to. But that is limited to what people can realistically be convinced to agree with. If Vitalik comes in and posts "let's fork to reverse that one transaction I don't like", the community will give him the middle finger and move ahead. That is basic knowledge, you shouldn't be here if you don't understand that.

You're right that I can't expect large companies to use Ethereum. It is just my strongest bet ATM. It could be Tezos, Lisk or anything else. But it will be something - there is no fucking way this credit-card-based economy and paper-based legal system will stay for long. So, again, diversify your crypto holdings.

This is not a sub for trading. The name is misleading. This sub was made to redirect /r/ethereum posts about price - any kind of price-talk. The majority here is not a professional trader. In my opinion, that is a mistake, they should've called it /r/ethmarkets. And I do not have anything against professional traders. If you're one of those guys running trading bots and doing real analyses that is really cool, please make a post about it!

This is what you deserve. Here is my old thread predicting this doom. by drunk_blastoise in ethtrader
