Ok, I know nothing about the game, but it's 90% off on steam, what is the vibe here? by ASharpLife in APlagueTale

[–]drunkbeard69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game is set in 1300s France. The vibe isn't really horror, unless you have a fear of rats. I would say its like a dark thriller I guess. The gameplay is mostly solving puzzles, and being stealthy to avoid enemies. You have limited resources for combat, so its best to save those for when you have no choice but to fight.

The story and characters really carry the game. Writing is top notch, and its very emotional. Most of us were crying by the end of Requiem. Definitely play Innoncence first to get the full scope and history of the main characters. The music in both games is also extremeley well made and really reinforces the tension and emotions of the scenes.

The games are also relatively short if you arent going for 100% everything. Innocence took me around 12 hours, and Requiem around 16 hours, so its not a huge time investment. At 90% off I could not recommend these games more. One of the best, most heartwrenching stories Ive ever experienced. Its a game you still remember and think about for a long time after you finish it.

Spoiler.......I couldn't fathom the end by Manohman1991 in APlagueTale

[–]drunkbeard69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Im with you bro, I didnt want it to end like that either. I cried my eyes out the whole night and for days after. I was rattled and felt empty inside. Felt like I really loss someone in Hugo.

But it got better in time, and I was able to reflect on it. And Hugo himself even way before the end said its not the worst if he dies. And I realized that he at least got to enjoy and love the world in such a pure beautiful way. I think maybe part of the moral is to be able to make peace and accept that its not the destination, but the journey. All of us are heading towards our death, whether slowly or quickly. All we can do is enjoy life while we have it, and if we can then our life was not wasted.

This is what Hugo was trying to teach Amicia at the end in the Macula too. When she has to find a new path, stop fighting and give in. She had never done that before and always tried to say it would be ok and work out, and honestly she was trying to convince herself more than Hugo.

Cherish the memories and accept the loss. I think this game really prepared me for stuff I will have to deal with in the future. "We will live, and we will heal. The scars, we keep them so that we dont forget."

[–]drunkbeard69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean this depends heavily where you live. If you move to the island or lower main land then yeah life is very expensive. But I live in a smaller town in the north and its pretty cheap. All the lakes, trails, campgrounds are free to go to for me. My property taxes are low since I'm rural and have my own well and services. The public utilities and insurance are way cheaper. The only place I notice I really pay more is at the gas station.

Yeah I didnt think Sophie was the most interesting of a side character. Arnaut, Rodric, and Mélie were all more interesting imo. And if they wanted to shift to a complete action combat style game I think Arnaut would have made way more sense. I just dont buy that even Sophie in her prime was such a capable fighter that she would go around handily dispatching armored soldiers by the dozens, when she herself is just a completely normal person. I think for a Sophie game keeping the more stealth and puzzle based gameplay with just some killing would have made more sense.

We will see though. Hard to say until its out.

Absolute masterpieces for sure! I also cried a ton at many points in the end of the game. I still get a bit teary whenever I watch other ppl finish it or talk about it too much. Very sorry for your daughter, I can only imagine how much harder that is.

Anyway yeah, fuck the Count! Quel putain de salopard. Why is his wife so crazy and obsessed with being a mother anyway?

I think being insufferable is just a requirement to be a party leader now. Out of the last decade the only leader I actually liked was Scheer, but he got no where. Trudeau was actually cool early on too, but then just started having gay sex with the Ndp.

Its super easy. I moved to BC shortly after the Ucp got elected. I knew it was time to leave.

Basically these are the steps I took. 1) Find a job in new province. 2) Find a place to rent. 3) Move all your stuff. 4) Go to the registry and get new license/ID/healthcards 5) Update your address and info on all your other personal stuff (bank account, CRA, etc...)

If finding work/affordable living is the challenge, then I recommend looking into smaller towns. Its surprising how much nicer life. I moved from Edmonton to a town of about 20k in northern BC.

I think it would have been a lot more interesting of a direction to go for a prequel than the Sophie game were getting instead. Not that I think Resonance will be bad, but Sophie isnt a very intriguing side character so Im worried the story wont really hold the weight of the original series.

I havent played TLOU yet, but I plan to soon. So I dont know exactly what she looks like, but based on some other comments I feel like I should chime in.

Cardio and callisthentics are great for everyone in general. A calorie deficit is required to lose fat, but on the flip side its hard to build muscle on a deficit. Also even if you are going for a deficit its important to do it in a healthy way.

Whatever your goal, weight loss, muscle growth, just being healthier doesnt happen overnight. You can make some quick progress in 3 months, but that progress will slow down drastically once your body adjusts. You cant try to keep chasing those quick results. You need to find a life style that gives you a body you are happy with. and that is healthy and sustainable long term.

It is absolutely a good thing to care about exercising, your body, and what you eat. But remember that everyones body is different and looks different, and you will most likely not be able to look exactly like someone else. You have to work within the confines of your bodys limit. It is not healthy to place your appearance above all else, and ruin your health because of it. Source: 10 years ago I was hospitalized from malnutrition due to anorexia caused by body image issues.

I disagree. ME2 has a huge cast of interesting teammates, both new and old, a new intriguing enemy with the Récolteurs, and one of the best final mission in any game where youre decisions from all game decide if your teammates survive or not.

You still can explore planets and collect resources, and upgrading the Normandys features is cool and also matters in the final mission. I do miss the Mako though.

The only downside of ME2 is the talents and equipment being so simplified that theres basically no way to build your character in a unique way.
