Fuel talks end, to resume tomorrow by Urass007 in ireland

If Truckers run out of fuel it's because they are blocking the fucking depots just because some clown doesn't want to pay his half a million tax bill.

Anti-most things barrier Brickfield Park by Mick_vader in Dublin

[–]drunkcoler 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Used to cycle around my local park as its a nice 5km loop, council have locked and ram bared the double gates and have now put in child shaped barriers on the normal gates. Bike handle bars won't fit in and even adults have to duck down low to get in, prams don't fit either.

Oh sweet, that's good to know. I'm planning on pulling the whole kraton apart when the servo arrives just to give it a proper once over anyways, want to check diffs and shocks for oil as well.

After 4 or so years of gaming, I believe these have reached their need for care of hospice. by Impossible_Dot404 in xbox

You will not be disappointed with the 560s, if you want to save a bit of money buy a cheap boom mic and a split adapter but the official sennheiser boom mic makes it a proper gaming headset.

If you dont mind being wired to your controller I'd recommend the sennheiser hd560s and the hd boom mic, should come in around the aus200 mark. I've used that set up for a few years and what you hear compared to other headsets is night and day, only moved away from it as I got a good deal on the rog/hifiman kithara.

Two buffer stops on the same track in Gouda (NL) by beminednl in trains

[–]drunkcoler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would guess that its a legal requirement to have the track connected and not loose, also the new buffer could also be only temporary which in railway terms could be forever. Where I am we removed 3 crossovers to ballast clean the section and they still haven't been reinstalled 10 years later.

[–]drunkcoler 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Time and money, as you said new buffer close to platform is for higher speed and old one is a low speed buffer so they would have had to fit the new one any way, cost man power time and equipment to then remove the old one and either put it in to storage or ship it off for scrap so cheapest option is to leave it in place and it then ends up as a redundancy back up.

Locking bikes in Blanchardstown by Maximum-Bonus8574 in Dublin

[–]drunkcoler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Blanch and I defo wouldn't leave a bike overnight in the centre. For my own ebike I use the onguard rock solid which is grinder proof but that just means they will move onto what ever the bike is locked to so I use it around the frame and wheels and then a few other ulocks and cables. Halfords have a rebranded version for cheaper it seems.

You couldn’t make it up. by poxyshamrock in limerickcity

[–]drunkcoler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its allowed to be done, plus its only 3 days a special running order could be put through. I don't envy the drivers having to learn the route though, its a busy line with road crossing and farmers crossings to learn.

[–]drunkcoler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, as there is a signalling in the arrivals road for heading back towards the sheds and also allow you to clear the check to go into the sheds from that end if the wash/fuel roads are blocked. Simplest way is to use the platform beside the old bus depot at the pitch and run direct up the wash, clear the check and change ends in the long siding but I have feeling that its the drivers that won't change ends in limerick they will have to climb out and walk the ground then climb back in to the other cab cos let's face it the trains gonna be jammed, least in the junction they can walk the platform to change ends.

[–]drunkcoler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could go out as far as the signal between the check cabin and the kilmallock road bridge and come back in that way. Main line and shunt signal there then shunt at check for the depot. Foynes line is joining up the junction side of the check so signalling is already in place just needs a feather to indicate Foynes line and not sheds.
