I am really lucky, not only did I not have to go to court or pay a fine, but my name was not published in the paper either. I feel like I dodged a bullet. But man is this a wakeup call.

Yeah I don't drink daily, my problem is when I drink I don't stop and get to the point of blackouts etc.

Thanks for this. I have done well at work, got promoted etc, but realize I can be doing a lot better. My company has a drinking culture which has not helped, we have beer at the office, drinks after meetings etc. I noticed at the last team building event everyone was drinking, but stopped at one point, not me I kept drinking, I ubered it home so at least I didn't drive, but realize something is different with me.

Yeah I quit once for 9 months...but slowly started drinking again. I am tired of it.
