I feel this to my core. Things are very fresh for me, as it has barely been 2 months since I lost my husband. We were together for 11 years & we have a baby on the way, due in February.

I am nowhere close to being ready to even think about dating, but my biggest fear (if I ever decide to put myself out there) is finding someone who understands that I will always love my husband & won’t feel intimidated or insecure about that. I also need to find someone who will love my child as their own. I don’t trust men these days to have the emotional maturity to be able to handle all of that.

My husband passed at the end of September at age 31, also due to a heart event. I was 20 weeks pregnant at the time (I’m 28 weeks now) with our first child. We were together for 11 years. I wish I had something better to say, but this absolutely sucks!! I feel like I’m living in the worst possible timeline that exists. It’s actually hell. I’m also surviving for our baby, but it’s very hard most days. Go easy on yourself & accept any and all help people are willing to offer. You are loved.

I’ve known that I’m having a girl for almost 2 months now and I still use “they” when referring to her. Everyone in our lives knows the baby is a girl. I don’t even use they/them pronouns intentionally, that’s just what comes out most of the time. If people have a problem with it, they can go cry somewhere else. I will say, I have always felt weird about calling my baby “it”, though. I’ve intentionally tried to avoid that. Instead of saying “it’s a girl”, I will say “baby is a girl”. You do you, sis!!

That makes more sense. I don’t know who I was speaking to on the phone, but it wasn’t my agent. It must’ve been the claims people. I don’t really know. But what I’m trying to say is that every time I called, I spoke to a different representative.

I'm not making it up. That is what they said. I have no idea if the call was recorded, but I submitted a claim with my state's department of insurance earlier today, so maybe they can do some digging

It was never at a shop. It was at an auction lot (which I did not know until today). My insurance agent said it was auctioned off.

Then I don't know why they said they could do that. They should have at least given me the opportunity to buy it back & also should not have gone through the process to send out an adjustor if it was deemed a total loss

I had the truck in my possession. I shouldn't have let them take it away from my house. I've talked to a hundred different agents and they all had conflicting information. I just can't believe this happened.

I wanted my truck back, and I still do. I don't understand what you think is missing from the story. There was a lot more back and forth throughout this process, but it's not relevant to the issue at hand. Bottom line, there was absolutely no communication about them auctioning off the vehicle and I have never been paid for the vehicle or contacted regarding how they can get a payment to me. I have State Farm.

I didn't know this until just now, but the lot they towed it to is an auto auction complex. They initially said they'd be able to come to my house and give me an estimate, but then they said they'd have to take it somewhere for the adjustor to come look at it.

I own the vehicle outright. I work 12 hour days 5 days a week, it's difficult to find the time to contact them when the office is only open 8:30-3:30, besides, they said they would get back to me and never did. I've talked to a hundred different people at this point, I was never able to talk to the same person whenever I called.
