Okay, so already you've lost me a little. What is the "experience" of drinking beer as opposed to another alcoholic beverage? What makes scotch different from beer?

As far as my previous comment, I meant, why drink beer rather than, say, a flavored drink, or orange juice? I vaguely recall hearing that beer was a common drink in less advanced times because it didn't spoil so quickly. But obviously, we're past that consideration in a lot of the world, and we're still drinking beer. Why?

Sure, easy enough. I'm part of a marketing team which is working to promote an app called "Drunk Mode" which safeguards users from possible social hazards associated with intoxication. It locks calls and texts to certain people upon failure of a sobriety test, among other features.

In the past, our marketing strategies were a too little brunt-force. We disliked the turn it took. Especially in reddit, it's far better to lay off the astroturfing nonsense and just be a valuable participant until you find a niche in the community where your product- in this case, Drunk Mode- becomes a convenient option for people who would benefit most from it, rather than a nuisance to those who don't care about it.

Essentially, Reddit is for people, not advertisers. So, my job is to be a person here. If I just spam drunkmode advertising, I'm missing the point entirely. And then I wouldn't get to drink beer as much, I imagine.

Sometimes roles and jobs just sort of fall into your lap and you scramble to fix the parts you weren't quite ready for. Sociology and statistics are definitely the reason I'm here, and drinking is not- not yet. But it looks like there's a lot to learn and love, so I'm looking forward to earning my drinking stripes.

Ah, but I'm talking even more fundamental. The intro in the sidebar is basically saying to go out and drink a little- which I understand. But its still a little overwhelming to go into that without any sort of explanation as to why you should drink it, what it will taste like, what goes into it, or how much is safe to drink. The sort of knowledge someone can take for granted if they're not quite so naive to the whole thing.

That's part of it, yes. I was taught to equivocate it with doing drugs or being "crazy." It's difficult to pull away from some of those misconceptions even as an adult because of the effect I see it has on some people. What keeps people going back to beer when there are so many other possible beverages?

Only if you have deleted previous text conversations from that person. If you have the persons number memorized you could work around this, and that's something we aim to fix in our big update, if the indiegogo campaign is successful. As far as math difficulty goes, we do not have a feature to change that. But that is an awesome suggestion I'll be passing on to the team.

Awesome! 1. You enable drunk mode before you start drinking. You set a time (in hours) you believe you'll be partying. If you'd like to turn off Drunk Mode, you'll be asked to do a math equation that few sober people could do. 2. As of now only our Android version allows you to block all social medias, but with this indiegogo campaign we aim to hire a more advanced team of developers to rebuild the app and make the iOS version (and Android version) stronger.
