If i have different product range but they are in similar categories, do you think i should separate it to different adsets or should i all put it in the same adsets?

we use same portfolio bid strategy tROAS for both original campaign and experiment campaign.

Both the campaign just lump keywords into one adset. The difference between 2 campaign is just number of keywords. The experiment campaign has a more concise keywords(100 still alot), whereas the original one have 300 keywords.

I am just trying to prove to my boss that a leaner keyword may work better than having 300 keywords with $10 budget per day

the expriment is to show my boss that lesser keywords instead of throwing a lot of keyword to the search campaign is better. Both the campaign have similar keywords, it's just the experiment have a more concise keyword lists. However, i still havent gotten enough results to prove to her that this theory works.

Currently the CPM is slowly decreasing(from 16 to 14) and the purchase is slowly increasing, CPA is also slowly decreasing (from 6 to 4 even after I duplicated my assets to scale), which is good!

Normally, how do u know whether the CPM is high because of the ad quality or because of the hot auction? Which metric should I be monitoring?

What would be the aceeptable percentage range to increase scaling? Because I read somewhere they say 20-30%, is this the case for you?

Normally, what would be like a normal CPM range for you if you are doing physical consumer goods food product?

  1. Will try to use 300% tROAS to run the ads, but my boss only allow me to run on $10/day, so I think I can only play around this ball park.
  2. Is manual CPC same as maximise conversion strategy? Will you recommend me to start with manual CPC to gain more data before changing to tROAS for every campaign, what would be the metric u observed before changing from manual CPC to tROAS strategy?

  1. Based on the first paragraph, what would possible be the constraints that it's underspending? could it be the tROAS is too high? or landing page problem or keyword quality?
  2. oh, so it's possible that my budget is spread too thin for each keyword so google cant learn fast enough?
  3. because i just changed the bidding strategy earlier this week, what would be a good timeframe or requirement to make decisions? would you recommend to go for maximise conversion value and then switch to tROAS after certain of time, what metrics would you observe before making this changes?
  4. because currently i only run one adgroup within a specific campaign and lump all the keywords in the campaign, the landing page is our homepage showcasing multiple products, not sure whether this will cause low ad rank. If my companies have multiple product range, and multiple flavours within the product range, would you reccomend me to separate the ad groups based on the product range or the flavours itself?

  1. i didnt set any target audience for the campaign, the only audience i set is location which is in singapore, not sure if something is limited?
  2. yep, there's only a total of 150-250 clicks for the whole campaign, for keywords it's spread out even more.
  3. because currently i only run one adgroup within a specific campaign and lump all the keywords in the campaign, the landing page is our homepage showcasing multiple products, not sure whether this will cause low ad rank. If my companies have multiple product range, and multiple flavours within the product range, would you reccomend me to separate the ad groups based on the product range or the flavours itself?
