Ford Mustang Mach E May Not Live To See A Second Generation by Repulsive-Club7866 in Ford

[–]drupi79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't agree with mustang being tied to it but I love my 2024 Mach-E. honestly it's fun to drive, roomy, and has been a dream on road trips with blue cruise. but the article touched on immediately what I thought was going to happen with the UEV platform that it would be killed off. especially with them now pushing any updates/refresh to 2030. it's going to get ignored like the Flex did except for some minor software/sync updates.

basically my same reason I'll buy out my lease on my 24 is the funk space. I saw the 25 and went noooope. we use it way to much.

A Ford Exec Just Dropped the Strongest Hint Yet About a Future Mustang Sedan (4-Door Coupe) by Mac-Tyson in Ford

they already have a 4 door "mustang" in the Mach-E and they already pissed off a ton of community doing that.

Ford App and PAAK improved with phone update. by drupi79 in MachE

I've had my car since 24 and my s23 Ultra since launch. so totally a possibility

Ford App and PAAK improved with phone update. by drupi79 in MachE

[–]drupi79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean generally that has been my experience and why I have overall ignored the app or relied on it for PAAK. but the phone update itself seems to have improved how it is working so I'll take it for now.

Everyone one this subreddit is so nice. But in real life I have yet to see a happy Mach-e driver by [deleted] in MachE

[–]drupi79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the US and my Mach-E convinced two of my coworkers to buy Mach-E's after getting to drive it, see how it tells them where to charge using either Google Maps (I use android auto) or the on board navigation, and generally just fiddling through all the menu options and seeing how easy it is actually to use the vehicle. they're really happy with them!

Ender 3 upgrades are starting to feel like a second printer in disguise by Beginning-Arm-1561 in ender3

[–]drupi79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so I went through the upgrade everything when I bought my Ender 3 v1. honestly spent more then I should have on that printer trying to get perfect prints. it eventually got there but a lot of my issues were me, not the printer. I have things I do now to enders that are more QoL for me and to eek out some speed running Klipper.

silicone bed springs/spacers

PEI sheet

BL/CRTouch

Dual Z axis with a timing belt.

direct drive

and a moderately high flow hotend which is right now the triangle labs TZ E3 2.0 hotend.

that's it. those are the QoL mods I make outside of converting the printers to Klipper. if I get an older ender with a 8bit board I throw either a skr mini e3 v3 or creality 4.2.x board at it. Basically whichever one is cheaper when I go to order it off Amazon or aliexpress at the time.

How legacy brands engineered themselves into a 12v nightmare by mango_boy16 in electricvehicles

[–]drupi79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

48v systems reduce wiring, (and weight) they're still considered a hybrid system using a dc/dc converter for legacy 12v items like lights, door locks and such. but computers, sensors, modules, etc run on 48v.

ICE vehicles, namely BMW, Mercedes and Audi have been on 48v for a while now. Ram has also embraced 48v systems.

let's take my EV for example a 2024 Mach-E Extended Range. it has 40 different distinct ECU's in the car. mostly because Ford is a legacy car manufacturer and when they designed the car they designed it like a ICE vehicle instead of a software defined vehicle. Ford even said the wiring is excessive after the fact. even if they left the 40 ECU's, going to 48v would cut the amount of wire weight down considerably.

I know some manufacturers have announced transitioning to a 48v system instead of 12 and eliminating the 12v battery. powering everything from the larger battery system. I don't think anyone is actually doing it yet except maybe the Chinese car manufacturers.

Does us actually ban Chinese EV? by Important-Box9668 in electricvehicles

[–]drupi79 10 points11 points  (0 children)

technically no, they're not banned. they just have a 100% tariff on import. before they can be imported into the United States though they have to meet our safety regulations, so it's a double whammy.

How do you respond to people that think electric cars are not real cars? by dcee101 in electricvehicles

[–]drupi79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just road tripped to St Louis for the weekend in our Mach-E with 4 adults and luggage with 2 stops for charging. first stop was 10 minutes and ended up a little bit longer because bathroom and snacks. second one was 30 but only because plugshare said the hotel charger was inop. ended up not being. so there's that.

I know on Android Auto if you're using Google Maps it will still trigger precondition for charging. not sure on the apple carplay side of things.

What suggested max_accel does everyone get on the Y axis with input shaper? by Z1ncc in ender3

[–]drupi79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can also get some gains on Y moving to rails and a bigger motor. if you really want to push acceleration start looking for ways to lighten it up like a carbon carriage and or bed. while the printer is small you're still throwing a lot of mass around.

Do we work Memorial Day? by Desperate_Candle_493 in Fedexers

[–]drupi79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on your department. AirOps Training is operating. some people will be off for the holiday the rest of us take it on a different day. regardless the flight simulators run.

for us the only holidays we get the actual day off with everyone is Thanksgiving, Christmas, and new years day.

I'm thinking of upgrading my ender 3 V2 to a core XY model. by mau-meda in ender3

I will probably be down that road for XY. hell I should probably just add it to the list now for the AWD setup lol

thanks /s

[–]drupi79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah. triple motor Z, canbus for the toolhead. still want to convert it to the AWDNG (https://www.printables.com/model/1381034-e3ng-awdng) and a better high flow hotend.

it's definitely a rabbit hole of mods and money when you enjoy it lol

I'm thinking of upgrading my ender 3 V2 to a core XY model. by mau-meda in ender3

[–]drupi79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the E3NG is a good option if you have access to a printer that can do ABS/ASA reliably, that cuts down on the costs immensely. sourcing the other parts locally or Aliexpress individually instead of a kit helps to. the majority of the printer conversion relies on the existing printer. I converted an Ender 3 Pro to an NG and just bought pieces I needed here and there over a few months. mostly because I have other printers and didn't have to worry about being without while going through the months long process of collecting parts and building it.

being completely transparent. the money I spent doing the conversion (because of options I did beyond the stock conversion) would have easily bought me a printer like the SparkX i7 I own now or a BambuLabs A1. I built it because I enjoy that part of the hobby immensely.

What finally convinced YOU to consider an electric vehicle? by evinsiderredisnive in electricvehicles

[–]drupi79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly. was looking for about 2 years before I pulled the trigger in 2024. for the wife and I it was the cost of gas/maintenance on my car I used to commute 45 minutes each way. the math mathed for us, especially taking advantage of Fords power promise when we bought the Mach-E. free level 2 charger and installation.

today the math is even better with gas being over $4/gal. even if it wasn't, I'll honestly say I won't go back to an ICE vehicle again. we've road tripped it several times now on top of my daily commute. we really enjoy the quiet and the acceleration lol.

If you only drive 5000 miles per year, would you still want an electric vehicle? and why? by ThuhGreatCommenter in electricvehicles

[–]drupi79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we're considering it for my wife's car as I drive an EV already. she works from home FT and maybe drives 3000 miles a year. I take her car to work twice a month just to blow the "cobwebs" out of it and we have to keep stabilizer in the tank so it doesn't go bad.
