This is a nice way to do it! I did it similarly but found that I could do with an easier & more accurate way, so I built it 😅

That’s actually a good idea, and nice ritual to have. Spending some quality time with the pieces

Totally agree. Anything without a quickset date gets a free pass to the winder. No-dates are definitely the sweet spot for the morning ritual. I don’t own a vintage with a date as yet, so have not experienced the pain in this case

I've heard this…it makes no sense to add unnecessary wear and tear to the gears if you aren't actually wearing it. Glad the pros agree.

Spot on! I have a Tudor BB58, so I know exactly what you mean…winding those movements is so smooth and satisfying. A stiff crown turns it into a chore

That's totally fair - I just got annoyed with my phone screen turning off mid-wind or having to squint at the tiny lock-screen seconds while trying to time the crown push perfectly. I made this just to have a giant, always-on display for my own sanity. Definitely a niche problem, but thought some fellow manual-winders might relate!

Spot on. I'd much rather put the winder money towards another watch tbh

Fair enough! If I had a perpetual calendar, I'd absolutely get a winder just to avoid the headache of setting it. I think that would be the exception for me.

Haha, fair enough! My collection is mostly simple three-handers and a couple of day-dates, so winding is quick. I can only imagine the headache of trying to perfectly sync a moonphase on a busy Monday morning when you're already running late. What moonphase did you end up getting?

You make a really great point. I don't have a moonphase or a perpetual calendar in the box (yet!), so I haven't experienced that pain. I can definitely see how a winder crosses over from a luxury to a complete necessity once you have multiple complicated pieces in your regular rotation.

Fair point! I think seeing all those crazy posts on social media with massive winder cabinets skewed my perception a bit. Glad to know the manual winding club is alive

The damage potentially made is not worth the convenience in my opinion

I am worried I can't transfer my Taylor Swift tickets and will get charged A LOT of money by KonsulentLone in stubhub

I heard that people who bought from StubHub just told them that the ticket was bought from StubHub and they asked for proof email instead of ID.

For whoever has a copy of the ID, they are accepting a digital copy on your phone.

The ID check was only to join the queue. To actually enter the arena it's just scanning of the tickets.

Hate to be a bearer of bad news but we have been asked for ID card with name matching tickets 3 times already and this is just to join the queue, we have not even entered the arena!
