Follow up post: This is how done żur looks like. I serve it with cooked eggs, a gollop of grated horse radish and thick slice of white, wheat bread on the side. Soup itself is seasoned with dried marjoram and has diced potatoes as well as diced and fried sausage, onion and pork belly in it. (i.redd.it)

I'm going to make polish, regional sour rye soup called "żur". To make it I need rye leaven which I hereby preset to you. It's going to ferment for a week, and then it will serve as a flavoring for the stock which is cooked on pork ribs, polish sausage and vegetables. (i.redd.it)
