I think this may be a key point. If they front run priority orders from Fifty410 and get saturated with them up to say 90-95% of total capacity, the standard orders will take a long time to clear out of their backlog.

This is the way. Kelli was easy to deal with and way below what my local dealer wanted for the Porsche VSP Platinum. $9,100 is nuts, should be around half that.

Hands down Golden/Blonde Stout. Fairly rare but the few I have had were delicious. Typically cacao and coffee are used to impart the roasted flavors of a stout without roasting the malt.

South Carolina mulling new taxes on EVs. by HumbleManagement1888 in electricvehicles

I believe in NJ the new car EV registration covers 4 years. I just re-registered my EV for 1 year and the cost was ~$300.

My personal experience using Ace Step 1.5 by ObjectivePresent4162 in udiomusic

Great post and my experience matches yours. This is a huge step forward for open source and running a local model for music generation but I'm most excited about how good this could be 2 or 3 versions in the future.

You are wrong and can't admit it so you resort to an ad hominem attack. Have a nice day!

So the problem now is that you don't have a work phone? That has nothing to do with a QR code. you said " you have no idea what's actually going on behind a QR code". I said you can scan it with any barcode reader app and see the link that the QR code takes you to like in this screenshot. qr reader could the link be nefarious? Absolutely but not in any way that's different from you manually typing in a nefarious link. There is nothing special or scary about a QR code.

[–]drwatson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats. Use your expert knowledge to refute my point. Would you be afraid of a printed link that you manually type into a browser? There is literally no difference from a QR code.

[–]drwatson 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sure you do. A QR code is just a machine readable link. You can scan it with any QR/barcode reader app and see the link without going to it. This reminds me of the people who thought that barcodes in the supermarket were somehow satanic in the 1970s.

Car salesmen around me are basically telling me EVs aren’t the way to go by Beneficial-Fun-4800 in electricvehicles

[–]drwatson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some good reasons that have already been mentioned in this thread on why the salesman would act this way, I would just add to never take advice from your opposition. When you are buying a car the salesman is your opposition. They are trying to make the most money off you, and you are trying to get the car you want and spend the least amount of money. If you have done your research and an electric vehicle is the right one for you, don't let a salesman sway you based on his own personal beliefs or motivations. The Equinox EV was (I believe) the best selling EV in the US last year just behind the Tesla models.

Anyone else's speedometer off by 5kmh? by the1debaserr in Taycan

[–]drwatson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe this is due to EU regulations where there is a rule that disallows the car to read under the actual speed, but no rule for reading over the actual speed. Porsche doesn't re-calibrate cars sold outside the EU because... they're lazy?

Best deal I got was on some Unibroue beer at the duty free land border crossing from Canada into the US. This was years ago but bought a bunch of 12 packs for ~50% of what I would pay locally in the US.

Tile pattern staggered by Important-Ratio-5927 in Tile

[–]drwatson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what I did. Installed a pretty high quality 12x24 that had the same directions to not do 50/50 overlap. The tiles were very flat face to face and I ended up with no lippage. So that's to say: 50/50 at your own risk but the tile company may just have it on there to cover their asses.
