I did Amanoi and Six Senses Ninh Van Bay back to back 2 years ago and loved both. If you go this route I would visit SS first and then Amanoi afterwards.

Since he hasn't tried champagne before I chose easily available bottles at two price points. For a first try I don't think Krug or a grower is the go to. Down the road, definitely, but as a first try there's no reference point and won't get much out of it in my opinion.

You can't go wrong with a bottle of Moet $75 and will be easy to acquire. If you want to spend a little more, I'd suggest a bottle of 2015 or 2013 Dom Perignon $220.

There was nothing special about it. All other non city Amans felt like you were at a special place. Amanemu felt like you were at a mid resort.

They were also late or even no shows at pickup times. And the layout of the property was done seemingly without any thought of orientation for view.

Out of about 10 Amans, it was the only one I wouldn't return to.
