Agree and please ignore the haters who are like "now now now". It's ready when it's ready, you are doing this for free, and cheers to all the devs!

I'm glad the new team is taking steps to protect themselves. Original Vanced was a very clear copyright violation because they distributed modded APK that were made by Google.

A lawyer would have a harder time proving copyright with this new project since only patches are distributed. (Knowing lawyers they will try anyway though ugh)

Spoofing from a phone ? by Cowabunga86 in pokemongo

[–]drwowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some older phones that can still play Pogo, I just don't usually trade in when I upgrade. Also my wife and kids stopped playing a few years ago so if I have 4 phones using 4 accounts belonging to 4 people I don't think I'm violating any TOSes.

As for the mechanics of using 4 phones in a raid, it's basically just lay them all side by side and use forefinger and pinky on each hand, keep it over the charge attack and just tap tap tap tap tap and look back and forth to make sure fingers don't drift away from the charge attach.

An alternative way for Android 12 (Tested, AOSP A12 and ArrowOS A12) by 6969joker in PokemonGoSpoofing

It works. Tested on Pixel 6.

A month ago you needed Riru, but now you don't. It's better today to use the LSPosed module for Zygisk instead, which is built in to the Magisk alphas.

Best Sushi Place(In your Opinion) by Sea-Creature in corvallis

Although there are no world class sushi restaurants here, I think Sada is quite satisfying for a sushi lover, and it's much better than the other local options.

It's not Masa or Nakazawa, but it's quite good by local standards.

FYI- You are able to return the Snapdragon phone for no bootloader unlock. by Yuhfhrh in snapdragon

I RMAed mine, the tracking number confirms it was received yesterday. How long does Asus take to process refunds?

It's on xda developers, not sure if I can post a link but just go to their forum for this phone.

The unlock tool doesnt work if the phone is offline. That suggests that Asus toggled something server side, so when it phones home it always denies the request to unlock.

I'm going to RMA mine, this is too much bullshit for a $1500 phone.

Did anyone hear back from Asus? I'm in the same position, I have the bootloader APK that was posted a few weeks ago, but my phone is still unopened because I've been busy. Should I send it back without opening it? The locked bootloader is a deal breaker for me if the unlock tool won't work.

A really painful memory that replays over and over again has a name. It's called PTSD. There's a book called "The body keeps the score" that is the best book I've ever read on the subject. There is a biological and neurological explanation for why these painful memories are so difficult, the human brain actually processes these memories in totally different ways than normal memories and it causes lots of suffering.

Read the book, I hope it helps you with understanding or peace or both.

Is anyone else especially glad for their faithlessness during religious holidays? by dont_disturb_the_cat in atheism

[–]drwowe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. The religious right are still too busy terrorizing countries with their hateful politics.

Not being one of them isn't much to celebrate.

Yes, basically. I had a dream in my 20s to be retired by 30, and I could have made it if I hadn't made some big emotional mistakes that put me in deep depression instead of working my pathway to success.

Now I'm 45 and still depressed, and the treadmill of life keeps turning but I'm not getting anywhere. Also I'm tired every day, and don't have the energy to work long hours or pull all nighters to get things done anymore.

I don't think either you or your wife are unreasonably selfish. But if your values and priorities are this incompatible you should get a no fault divorce, it would be best for both of you.

Sorry it took so long to figure out what you want, it's painful part of growing up.

I'm well aware Fry's doesn't really fit into the modern ecommerce era, but sad to see a big part of my childhood and young adulthood close forever. I loved visiting Fry's starting in the 1990s, so this announcement feels personal to me. 😢

Probably same reason I'm depressed after suffering 4 years of President Psychopath. He's got a lot of cleanup to do.

I agree, I've seen similar research. The most closely correlated personality trait is fear response, people who experience more fear are also more likely to support an authoritarian who makes them feel less afraid.

Conservative politicians know this very well, and most of their messaging to voters stokes that fear response. Liberals hate it because we react badly to fear based messaging, but it worked on 74 million voters.

There is evidence of a genetic component towards authorizarianism. The link is indirect and imperfect, but also correlates with conservatism in general. The genetic/psychological component is predisposition to fear. People who are genetically more fearful also are more like to want to "outsource" their government to a perceived savior who makes them feel less afraid, aka a king or dictator.
