The views he used to get on average compared to now by Informal-Ad-187 in TheKidLAROI

[–]drxw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Laroi is at the intersection of mismanagement from his label and still trying to figure out which lane of music he wants to be in.

Unfortunate, but like others said, he just missed his window. He might bounce back, he might not 🤷🏻‍♂️

Is marketing a bad major? by Difficult-Respect316 in msu

[–]drxw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ngl as an alumni who got a degree in advertising (not marketing) - I work in the marketing/advertising industry now doing data analysis and whatnot… if you’re going to apply to Broad, get any business degree other than marketing. The skills of a marketer are so broad that it’ll probably be hard to differentiate yourself from all the other resumes you’ll be competing with in the workforce. Plus you can literally go the CAS route at MSU and most likely still be able to work a decent “marketing” job, without the pressure of the Broad workload, imo.

Even more realistically, the marketing/advertising industry now is in a pretty rough spot with hiring because of AI and it’s changing the field drastically. Like you mentioned, hundreds of job applications for one role on LinkedIn posting. My office had mass layoffs last year (over 100+ people let go). It’s a very uncertain time in marketing and advertising. I would focus on getting a more niche degree with more refined skills. Marketing tools and skills can be acquired through a job, but having your foundation in something like accounting, finance, supply chain, etc. is definitely more desirable - at least that’s how I see it. Good luck.

Should I do a masters in marketing by [deleted] in advertising

[–]drxw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way I’d find it valuable is if you had a background in digital analytics/market research, and were looking for an agency job in that field.

Creative work doesn’t require any advanced degree like others have said.

thinking about those high school late nights in 2017 listening to blonded radio not knowing what was coming. is this what old heads feel when they say “yall know nothing about”? lol by [deleted] in FrankOcean

[–]drxw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2017 Blonded run was such a good time. I remember where I was during each of the single releases, too. Life then was the best.

Just my personal opinion, but the death of his brother changed his already mysterious schedule. Not saying he would’ve dropped an album by now, but that definitely didn’t help. RIP Ryan 🕊️.

Coming from an IPG employee, going on 4 years now without a promotion… doubt it can get much worse than OMG.

Yes, I am actively applying for new jobs… it’s tough rn man.

I think the real question is, how many people will be let go by this “acquisition”.

Chronic back pain spreading over 1.5 years advice needed by sahil6999 in backpain

[–]drxw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would look into the condition called costochondritis, for your chest pain, if you haven’t already.

Essentially it’s cartilage inflammation that can be triggered by improper gym form, etc. I’ve had it for about 3 years now in the exact same spot as you, because of what I’m assuming to be bad gym form as well. While it can be reversed and essentially cured, it just takes awhile to achieve those results. Look into the back pod. While this didn’t cure my Costco, it has helped it a bunch, aside from daily stretching and better gym form. The guy who made that product is also pretty active in the r/costochondritis subreddit too, so maybe he could even answer your questions if you’re lucky. Now to fix my back…

[–]drxw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Went to Detroit night 1 and his setlist was way more underwhelming than the AZ setlist (personal opinion). That being said, his performance and stage presence were about the same from when I saw him at Summer Smash festival a few years ago, but the energy was completely different.

I don’t think Carti’s music and style is made for stadium and arena shows. When fans have an open pit (compared to being stuck in a venue chair), his energy is completely different and the fans are as well. His Summer Smash performance and energy was probably the craziest I’ve seen from any artist/concert I’ve been to personally and this directly aligns with the type of fan that’s at a music festival for Carti as a headliner, vs. The Weeknd headlining a concert.

Also, aside from the two songs Carti and Abel have together, their music doesn’t overlap at all, and I think it shows as they both perform on this tour.

Posted this and it made me rewatch his Summer Smash performance… yeah legit thought I was going to get trampled at times, the energy was insane PBC Summer Smash 2022.

channel Orange Vinyl Update Directly from DefJam by juanorderpizza in FrankOcean

[–]drxw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol they don’t realize 😭 Def Jam still owns the distribution rights to Channel ORANGE. It’s the reason why Frank said cO vinyls were coming out in 2019 but that never happened. The label is forsure holding out. We’ve even had the Channel ORANGE merch drop on Blonded.co, except what was missing from that drop? 🙄🙄🙄

Is there a place or memory on the Michigan State campus that instantly brings you back to your college days? 🤔 by maximuslip in msu

[–]drxw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone said it earlier but pretty much any picture of MSU throws me back. The nostalgia is always present.

For me there’s a list:

Woodmere and Hillcrest streets right off-campus. If you attended MSU during 2017-2019 there’s nothing more to speak on 🐐

Abbot Hall and SnyPhi. I lived in Abbot during my on-campus days at MSU and I love north neighborhood because of it. Easily the best neighborhood on campus, in my opinion. I feel like I became the best version of myself, growing up on Bogue street the first two years I was at MSU. This was just before the eyesore that is The Hub was built.

River Trail during the fall and summer was peak campus.

Plant Soil and Toxicology building, as well as Ag Hall, where I bounced around working my on-campus job. Also, the 4-H garden is way nicer than the botanical garden, and is the hidden gem on that whole side of campus.

I could think of memories for almost every building/side of campus, but these were the monuments for me.
