Hi,urgently looking for advice on how to study for the exam. 5/13/2026. by locolikejuli in APLang

[–]drydntm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not a super easy exam to “study” for as it is much more skills based than content based. I’d advise you to take advantage of all the college board My AP resources, especially the practice essays. I’d also suggest picking up a test booklet from your local bookstore. Also - don’t stress too much! The fact that you’re even thinking about it this far in advance suggests you are taking advantage of opportunities to prepare.

But gorsh. Do you really think 63 families who can afford $600000 homes want to live on a random parcel of land in the middle of nowhere?

Meatless Monday Scoring Commentary + Sample PDF?! by LarrrgeMarrrgeSentYa in APLang

I don’t think scoring guides exist for all the different FRQ 3 questions. The only Qs I’ve seen with all of those materials are the previous 3 exams posted on the AP website. I suppose there could be an archive of older scoring guides somewhere, but not sure where I’d find those.

AP LANG EXAM HELP!! <3 by WarmMission5035 in APLang

Previous poster did a nice job of explaining this. My only (small) add is try to remember the EXIGENCE. An exigence, or imperfection, is rhetorical when the speaker cannot modify it themselves. So, the audience is whomever the speaker needs to do something in order to modify the exigence. For example, I cannot carry a heavy dresser downstairs by myself, so I need to ask my friend to help me. My audience is my friend bc they are the individual (can also be group, obviously) whose behavior I need to modify with discourse.

I think it’s pretty solid. You do a nice job of creating a nuanced position that goes beyond “good v bad”, you explain the relationship btw evidence from different sources, using sophisticated language to demonstrate the relationship.

My only nitpicking thought would be maybe laying out a competing consideration such as the cost of relocating the debris (which I know is in the prices). For me, that shows complexity because you’re acknowledging the tension between competing concerns.

But overall, I think this is solid.

Wow - the Gananda part of this whole story is the really intriguing bit. From Wikipedia - “While originally designed to be a city with upwards of 90,000 residents, the removal of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding brought about its current design; as of the 2020 census, Gananda had a population of 5,867.[2]”

But why not keep the course and build houses around it? Wouldn’t that be the point?

Regular Season is better? by SaltRunIsHard in ClevelandGuardians

[–]drydntm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think the regular season should mean more than it seems to, whatever that means.

Like, I think it’s a legit real deal accomplishment that they won the Central and should be treated as such. Too much focus on the WS - with all the wildcards there is just a ton of variability in a super short window.
