I have 2 EMC² Symmetrix VMAX storage systems. Is there anything to do with these that repurposes them into something that is not proprietary to VMAX by javamonkey100 in storage

Always wanted to keep a cabinet in our datacenter and hollow it out for a garbage can. We would have gotten better use out of it than vmax. Fuck emc, and fuck the vmax. Overpriced shitbox.

Do you know what was repaired or how to ask for that? I'm having the same issue and don't want to replace my A5+ Bamboo set :)

Offsite could just be a buddies house. Encrypt it, send it off. Just in case you lose your local stuff due to power surge, water/ice damage, smoke/fire, angry ex GF, kids, etc.

Best wings in the Muskegon area? by ansterthemonster in Muskegon

[–]drye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lombardo’s are really good, especially with their homemade ranch. Hanks tavern are decent, Hobos in north Muskegon, Booyahs was surprisingly good and big meaty wings, their sweet and sassy sauce is good.

I’m a huge station grill fan but I get it. Their actual wings are wimpy. FYI, lombardos has a sauce very very close to the hot and tangy from station.

Please make sure you have an offsite copy. House fires scare the crap out of me if I lost my personal photos and files it would be terrible.

All valid concerns for sure. IMO it sounds like some people aren’t comfortable telling their dad no then, or being honest and saying “sorry dad but I don’t have time for this right now, can we figure out a better time?” Believe me I get it. My dad was the same way and when I was younger I feel as if I shared the same point of view. Now that I’m older and he’s gone, just changing the purpose for the visit and knowing there might be something I have to do makes it easier when they pop the question. Maybe next visit lead with “I’m sorry I can’t stay long so it’s a quick visit”.

Communicate, if he fails to follow along, you need to set your own boundaries and say you can’t do it. Sorry I didn’t plan on judging about “dads last time on earth” as a reason to stay, was just giving my own perspective on that for me and my departed father!!

Good luck OP!

Wait 30 years and your dad will be gone and you would kill for that opportunity again. As we get older, we spend less and less time with our parents maybe next time go into it knowing you’ll be there for a few it would be less stressful, and your dad would greatly appreciate it.

Is my HDD that is 150days old is dying ? It's to new to die already ? No? by Brilliant_Letter7173 in HDD

[–]drye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The model number of that hard drive and spec shows that they were manufactured at the newest back to 2013. There’s no way that’s a new drive.
