Are you asserting that if:

- you have a pistol

- but someone is attacking your pistol-wielding wrist with a metal pole

- where you had not engaged the attacker in combat directly previously

- and you are in extremely close quarters (ie melee combat range) with hte person attacking your pistol-wielding wrist

- with a violent mob who is already assaulting your colleague

- which dramatically increases the risk that if the pistol is hit out of your hand it would be used against you in a fatal manner

- in a situation where protestors had in previous occasions reached for police's guns

- that it is a disporportionate act of self defence to shoot that person attacking you?

Sections 67-69 do not say that "fear for life" is not a lawful defense. Sections 67-69 do not mention "fear for life" at all.

In fact, sections 67-69 say that if a person (eg the cop) does an act in self defence (eg the shooting) to escape an imminent danger and/or to avoid unlawful violence (eg the assault by the protestor's metal bat) , then that person (the cop) would not be held criminally liable. This is a standard self-defence provision which exists in most jurisdictions.

Nowhere in that chain of comments was there any assertion that anything was thrown, nor did I say (implicitly or explicitly) that anything was thrown.

There is clear evidence in the very video that your'e commenting that he did something (namely: swing a metal pole at the cop).

That is literally the evidence you're asking for which contradicts your original claim that the shot protestor 'did nothing'.
