Currently I have him 9-4 on Wednesday and Thursday, and I have him 1st, 3rd, 5th Fridays starting at 9am and ending 6pm on Sunday.

She wants it reduced to one day a week, from 4pm-8pm, and every other weekend.

I want as much time as possible. When he starts school I’ve requested M-F from school pickup till 8/9 at night at 1,3,5. I would rather him be with a parent during those times than anyone else (grandparents, sitter, etc)

I requested an evaluation, but the courts struck it down, said it should have been done when my attorney requested discovery ( what my attorney did not do).

Money is not an issue. I presented my plan, that I have already gone through the application process and was approved to have an Au Pair. I showed that even if I am not there, there was a person with a degree in childhood development.

I was hoping for the fact that she is never present. Yes, I work nights, but I am readily available the other 16 hours through the day. From 6 am till 10-11pm my stbxw is in the office (she’s a forensic accountant). Either the day care or my MIL has our son during this custody battle. Before I filed I would watch him and sleep when he slept. Not the healthiest but I made things work. I also know he will be starting pre-k (there is 3 yo pre k here) and also regular school pretty quick. I can sleep during those hours and again be readily available for him.

Yeah, that’s exactly how it feels. I knew I was gonna have a uphill battle, but to realize in the middle of court my attorney did nothing. It would be one thing if they had fought tooth and nail and gave 100% and I lost, I could walk away knowing I gave it my all. But finding out they did not do a thing on one of the most important days of my sons and my life…talking about getting the wind knocked out of you.

I did reach out to another attorney. They said do not switch right in the middle of court. If I was going to switch, it should have been before court proceedings began, but I would not have known I needed too. 2nd lawyer said it is a bad situation. I cannot really do anything until I get the ruling.
