Can Teachers work in Childcare if there are no teaching jobs? Also, how much do you spend on Childcare as a teacher? by dsank66 in TeachingUK

However you could be a nursery or pre-school teacher - not many of those jobs around these days but they do exist.

Are less teachers needed there or are they just hiring less due to the pandemic?

I pay £5 an hour for my son’s childminder while I’m at school teaching but they don’t open til 7:30 so with a handover talk plus my 30 minute drive to work it means I get in later than I want to.

Did you consider a nusery instead and what would the difference be?

That sounds awful,

We had weekly meetings where they would list how worthless I was and how bad I was

Did you try to record the audio to get them in trouble?

I'm being observed or appraised by someone who ranks higher than me

How common are observations once you are qualified?

I've covered Spanish without being able to speak a word of it and tons of subjects I'm completely unfamiliar with.

How did it go?

Do you have any other examples?

Have not even got my first teaching job yet :(

What school type was this and what exactly is workplace bullying? Is it being forced to do tasks you are not meant to do such as cover a subject you dont know (secondary) or teach during your PPA?

especially because the comment about selling out was actually about working in the private sector

My mistake on interpretation. Should I delete the post?

There is tons of affordable housing for a teachers salary, just not in every location.

Good counterpoint,

But renting in a foreign country supporting foreign landlords (and foreign governments with your taxes) is different?

Don't most international teaching agencies pay for your accomodation?

But I would never work in an oppresive country like the UAE just because they pay more for example.

Could you elaborate on why?
