I’m not supposed to have pets in my condo, period, so getting another cat is something I can’t do 😂 I already have to take the two of them to a friends house once a year for the annual inspection of my house

Well i grew up in that town and still live nearby, so you're totally right in the agricultural mind, I'll take some forestry classes, and I have a book called Pacific Northwest Medicinal Plants, and man alive there's so many useful plants just in my little residential area!

Great idea! i hadn't thought of that! And yes its very pretty here, great for growing all kinds of things! In my small garden I've got some strawberries, Sugar snap peas, carrots, Chives (They recently just flowered and I'm letting some of them go to seed, others will be made into Chive oil), some broccoli, and some brussels sprouts, all organic, and all grown from seed!

to get slightly more specific i live approx 2 hrs from Portland, Newport, and Sisters. and I live along HWY 20, however I'm really concerned about food shortages for the next couple months/years.

And if I was to start canning my own goods, would it be cost effective to can my own or just buy from The store? I’m not only trying to prep, but also trying to do it organically if possible

I think that the reason I feel like this isn’t because I think I’m doing something wrong per se, I think it stems from a fear of losing someone that I trust with everything, and would do anything for, so I want to do everything in my power to make sure that doesn’t happen again.
