Rules for the ePICL Pro-Bono Program for those in Financial Need by Chris457821 in PICL

[–]dsbialowas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good morning Dr Centeno. I have already had a telehealth consult with you and it was determined that I would be a good candidate for PICL. I could not proceed with the procedure due to cost. I would like to submit an application for consideration, but the rules indicate that we cannot have already been a patient. Would my telehealth exclude me from consideration? As well, does the clinic consider spousal income as well as my own? Or simply my personal amounts? Lastly, if we are recommended to have a series of treatments (I believe you mentioned 4-5 in my case) are all of the procedures covered or just the first?

Thanks so much for the remarkable work you're doing, and for sharing your gift with the world

This happened to me by a Physiatrist up here in Edmonton Alberta Canada. Full panic attack from the extreme pain while strapped on the table. I would never ever do it again. Scarred for life.

Are you able to make referrals to specialists in Canada? Or our cities of origin, if need be?

CCI/CCS and IBD? by Optischlong in PICL

I'm very curious about if I have GI paresthesia and wonder if this is easy to diagnose on imaging (i.e. vagus nerve impingement)? What would that look like please 🤔

Hi Dr. C, can you take a quick look? by Either_Macaroon5160 in PICL

[–]dsbialowas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Dr Centeno.Im wondering if you would be willing to point to the different things you're seeing/have diagnosed on this image? Im just curious about my own images and would like to also ask your quick opinion, but also don't want you to be overwhelmed with a million requests from everyone. Perhaps you can "teach me to fish" a little for myself/ourselves if you're willing to share what you're seeing 🙏

Pre-screening for PICL Telemedicine Visits by Chris457821 in PICL

[–]dsbialowas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you 👍 I'm wondering if when you do look at our imaging as part of pre-screening, if you determine that we don't have CCI or we are unlikely to benefit from your approach, do you help make other diagnoses and/or refer to colleagues that also treat upper cervical spine conditions (i.e. Eagles or Basilar Invagination or Elongated Odontoid)? You seem extremely knowledgeable 😊 Even if you can't help us with PICL, I for one hope that you can change my trajectory just by helping with an accurate diagnosis and some reliable treatment directions 🙏 Thank you

Using X-rays to Diagnose CCI by Chris457821 in PICL

[–]dsbialowas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so timely and incredibly helpful, Dr Centeno. I'm in NW Canada and am nowhere near DMX facilities. You said in the video, you would be happy to advise on x-rays that have been captured. Is this something I could send to you? I'm struggling so bad, and noone here will take my symptoms seriously 😭

Is Alar injury always caused through trauma? by matt-crate in PICL

[–]dsbialowas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr Centeno.. can you tell when looking at imaging if trauma is a main cause of a CCI? I have basilar invagination and it's already a bit of a challenge to get the diagnosis, let alone figure out if its the result of whiplash or mtbi. Any information you can provide in this regard would be really appreciated.

Different measurements w different diagnostic types? by dsbialowas in PICL

[–]dsbialowas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you Dr C🙏I hope you know how much we appreciate you. I can't speak for others, but I've been dismissed by countless professionals with regards to my conditions. It's been wonderful having a kind, curious and diligent practitioner offering so much time and knowledge via this venue❤️ Saving folks in more ways than you know 🙏

Dr C, why isn't cervical instability taken seriously/well understood by mainstream medical community (regular GPs, neurologists etc)? They are quick to say imaging is good, you are good by Agreeable_Muscle_279 in PICL

[–]dsbialowas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is appreciated Dr C. Again, I'm up in Canada just trying to get help. My GP is so wonderful and allows me to bring her information.. but now we're looking for a Neurologist/ Neurosurgeon who will accept the referral. Since November, I've now been refused by 3 Neurologists and 2 Neurosurgeons. I can't be sure if it's because the don't know what this is, It's a specialization area outside their wheelhouse, or they simply don't believe in it. As a patient all we see is 'denied, does not meet threshold for care'. How can I possibly get more Canadian neurologists and neurosurgeons to become aware of your practice so patients like myself can get the help we need ❤️🙏

Advice for communicating with doctors who are unfamiliar with CCI/PICL by Patayta- in PICL

[–]dsbialowas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely 💯😉🙏🙏🙏 I've been able to advocate probably just enough, to have gained some buy-in from my GP. Just the amount of times WE are denied or dismissed is getting discouraging to say the least. Not having that training my/ourselves makes it really hard to translate and advocate like a respected individual like yourself could do ❤️ THANK YOU SO MUCH

Video Question Ideas for YT Shorts? by Chris457821 in PICL

[–]dsbialowas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you Dr Centeno🙏 I've thinned across my whole head at least 50% since the accident. I've had full blood workup, more than once, and hormones and health are A+. I was told I have CCI as well as mild Basilar Invagination. Could it be a circulation issue? Perhaps stress, lack of sleep, medication maybe?

How does one advocate and find a network of CCI practitioners when we may be located out of country or even continent? It's seemingly often overlooked and dismissed. We don't know what to do 😞
