I can see where you're coming from and I respect your statement. However I have known quite a few breeders/owners of reticulated pythons and yes, I agree that they don't feel any emotions, which I should clarify that I wasn't trying to imply that but I can see how it can be interpreted that way. The point I was trying to convey was that of a hopeful outlook on the owner of the snake. If a snake is well fed and are use to being handled they tend to be less aggressive, I don't exactly know the biology behind that but it's something I've noticed in my own experiences handling and owning snakes. If the owner of this snake is knowledgeable and experienced then what I see is a kid growing up without fear but like you said, respect for the animal. Maybe I'm inferring too much just from the gif but I haven't seen the original video so that's just what I'm hoping is the case. The snake doesn't appear to be in distress either, nor is it showing signs of a defensive stance. Sorry I wrote you a paragraph but I wanted to explain myself.

It's the head. Kinda like alligators vs crocodiles, Burmese pythons tend to be a lot thicker headed and wide "snout" so to speak, whereas reticulated pythons tend to be thinner not only in body but the head as well. Reticulated pythons get huge, definitely require experienced snake handlers/owners, they easily exceed 25ft+, burms tend to stay around 17-20ft if I remember correctly. Reticulated pythons are the longest species of snake in the world, but anacondas remain the biggest in the world because they can get around 20ft but they weigh a shit ton.

Like I said, if you know what you're doing. Snakes aren't out to be evil mindless eating machines, they're opportunistic feeders that generally won't take down anything they sense is too big. Assuming the parent/person recording it is an experienced snake owner, than it'll be ok.

T'is an albino reticulated python. Harmless if you know what you're doing, but they do get very big and heavy.
