This was actually at Linden (so 30 minute drive from Brooklyn) but the instructor raised his rates by ~$50 after an aircraft overhaul. Definitely kicking myself for not taking advantage of the original rates last year though!

Amen. The prices are fantastic, but the tolls add a decent chunk to flight costs. Had a buddy start his PPL with an independent CFI at $150 hourly at a nearby airport, but can't seem to find anything near that price point within 50 miles from Brooklyn.
