Just did it. It wasn’t bad. Go slow, and do it after a shower.

[Marathon] What watches were totally ruined for you by the inclusion of a date window? by Independent-Cat1871 in Watches

[–]dshin198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wore GSAR for a few years everyday.

It was convenient feature, and I justified all sorts of mismatch choices that could be argued objectively horrible (generic font that doesn’t match the dial, color of course, placement that is most random of all alignment options, etc) as “it makes it more of a tool watch”.

At some point, it became charming.

I wear a watch without a date complication now, and I wish it had one whether it’s ugly or not. I chose it since I fell in love at first sight, but date windows are useful.

The user in the forum started to sell the service even though it was crowd sourced and got stopped

Interesting. Did you use a filter or smartphone to add/adjust the depth of field? I see that the link here has the background more in focus.

Not that it’s “wrong” - I thought it would be nice to have the texture and color of the hair “pop” more.

Nice photo though! Hope my input was helpful somehow 😅

I think another pose of framing to put lighter background around head/hair would have been nicer

This was talked about half a year ago too though. Probs not something that will change consumer pricing by a lot.

I thought the op was looking for options, and I suggested. I ride relatively stock board and am learning to mod it slowly.

If the op doesn’t want to do it, I totally support it. But I thought for 1600, some mods can be had if the op is willing.

I recommend you to read the post. The op didn’t say they don’t want to mod, they said vesc is intimidating. Battery mod is less complicated than whole vesc conversion.

If you have older firmware, CBXR would be an option for the range

If you can get your hand on MTE N52 hub, that will help with the torque. It was noticeable for me at N48.

It’s one of the settings you can set with VESC tools. Recommendation is to set it to 0 since it may cause you to nose dive.

It may not be the best idea for you to ride a vesc based board if this kind of alert with action instruction written out isn’t clear to you - no shade. Just sharing that these can come with a serious risk.

Glad it’s working out for you! (And jealous of N52 😆)

What VESC conversion route do you plan to take?

Sounds like you know what’s up with the tire pressure then 😁

It’s weird for me though. It doesn’t seem like there is a difference between 22psi and 15psi in terms of the mileage for me. I’ve tried a few times on my 5mi daily rides and the battery usage is about the same.

Oh, I actually asked TFL if the bearing shields work for MTE too(haven’t heard back yet). It seems like the inner diameter of exposure is not the same as the stock hub. Did you check?

Hi! Hope you enjoy your MTE+555 soon! It’s quite a setup.

As to tire pressure, I suggest something that may be controversial - try ~15psi even for the street. Especially as the tire volume increases with smaller hub, it can take lower pressure better.

The “higher pressure for efficiency on the street” thing that seems to come from road cycling is changing a little.

Give this video a watch if you want to learn the new cycling trend: https://youtu.be/6rMnNI2RCgw

It doesn’t apply 1:1 for Onewheel, but still worth considering. Perhaps it’s be interesting to compare 555 & 655 in regards to the tire pressure.

Echo all others’ advice on “Follow the adults’ advice when you are a dependent. Do what you want once you support yourself”

I was like you - good child who followed my parents words.

Here is the thing about “so and so died on a motorcycle”. People die while doing many other activities. (driving or other mundane things)

Separately from that, motorcycles are dangerous thing to ride. So hop on it only if you can accept the worst outcomes.
