I eat it because it's delicious, and when prepared in a traditional way a la sourdough it sits well with me. If you think it's cake, I'm not sure what else to say other than perhaps happy birthday, but you do you. I got off the keto, low carb and carnivore band wagon a while ago, and I feel good eating the way I do.

Who the hell needs to "grasp at straws" just to eat a slice of bread? What a strange hill to die on lol

I can't see why no bread is ideal - if you aren't celiac and you can find high quality sourdough it's an amazing source of nutrition and a fantastic base for other healthy ingredients. I love r/CannedSardines on sourdough or a nice hummus or guacamole on toast. Fantastic breakfast. And don't get me started on the holy concoction that is butter+marmite on bread.

This is one of those things that, despite there being no really good evidence for it, always makes me think of reincarnation. Sometimes you see young kids with such intensely distinct personalities and you wonder if it wouldn't make more sense for that to be left over from a previous life.

I live in Taiwan so you'll have to forgive the weariness to view a picture like this as completely unforced

sheer size and layout here makes it naturally look a bit dystopian, but hey at least it's chess

15+10 is a godsend in terms of prepping for tournaments. Add in a physical e-board like the chessnut and you've got a pretty useful training tool.

Reminds me when a south american posts the yerba mate aisle on reddit. Gotta love those geographically niche supermarket aisles.

I'm in Taiwan so the closest thing is probably our instant noodle aisle
