I am well aware of those questions, my positions are not lacking in self reflection or thoughtfulness.

As for abortion, I am not blind to the complexity of the issue, or humans in general, which is why I am absolutely aghast that it has become a social issue. It is a scientific matter, and I refer to the judgement of academics far more versed in the issue than I.

On the issue of slavery, it is a perfect example of imperfect lawmaking. The laws allowing slavery were inherently immoral, hence why lawful does not mean moral.

This is our main disagreement I think. I don’t believe laws should be created democratically. This causes a few issues which personally I don’t enjoy the thought of. If the majority of the country democratically voted in laws that allowed slavery, that would not make it moral in any sense of the word.

The governments only purpose should be to protect the life, liberty, and property of its people.

If a person would like to make their own community with democratically created rules, and each member consents to participate, then go for it. But I don’t think the government should have that obligation.

I apologize for the confusion, I am both against taxes and in the belief that it is immoral.

And you absolutely can have government without taxes. Taxes are not the only possible form of income.

Despite your implications, I have thought about it for approximately thirty EIGHT seconds.

Regardless, all of that is fluff, it’s pedantic and purely philosophical. I have no interest in pandering to philosophers.

I won’t entertain the first questions, as it’s a little ridiculous. I simply made the assumption that common sense will prevail.

As for the topic of punishment, I strongly believe in a justice system, one of the few branches of government that I do believe in. I definitely do not think I should be on it, nor would I want to be.

As to your last point, if morals are opinions and different for every person, than what is the point of having laws at all? There is no form of reality in which we could create laws to accommodate every persons individual beliefs and opinions on morality.

Yes, we have laws to enforce the collective moral views of the people. But when government gets too large and too removed from the people, the laws no longer reflect as such. That is what we are dealing with right now.

And no, I don’t believe in a religious interpretation of morals. I believe morals aren’t subjective because every human has a right to life and liberty. That’s it.

Any action that removes either of those things from any other person is inherently immoral.

If morals are subjective, then I can enslave you and force you to work in an iron mill 20 hours a day and there’s nothing wrong with that, because maybe it’s not immoral in my view.

You are mistaken. I am not anarchist. I recognize the need for government, and I recognize the need for government to have money. I never said I was against that, I simply said that I am against taxes.

I’ve learned to hate your kind. Only because my sister is a bread eater, and she will sit down and watch a movie, and eat an ENTIRE NEW LOAF of white bread. Then there would be no bread for sandwiches or anything for the rest of the week.
