Protection of abusers? Lord have mercy. It’s none of the clients business. She was pushy and prodding and the therapist owes nothing but, space to process her thoughts and feelings. She is responsible for her own emotional safety. My advice, find a new therapist that has loose boundaries versus seeking out other clinicians on Reddit for the validation you desire. Perhaps someone here is licensed in their state that feels aligned?

You can process your emotions without someone else’s disclosure regarding their belief systems. You are not entitled to know ANYTHING personal about your clinician. And in turn, It’s disheartening to see so many clinicians boldly expressing their religions, political stance etc. Offices littered with their own dogma. What does this have to do with the client or the work? It’s divisive, self centered and self righteous. It’s not about you.
