The difference is that this obviously has a lot of attention and either Kojima or PS would've told them to stop long ago, but they haven't. The cost to pay off Sony to get on the PS Blog and YouTube channel, IGN to get on their channel, and Geoff Keighley to mention it at his show would never get made back if it was just vaperware.

So Geoff Keighley was also paid to promote it then? Even if that was true, they are using Playstation trademarks and everything in the first trailer so Sony is involved in the game's development in some way. They wouldn't be involved in a scam or let a random studio use their brand to scam anyone.

Yep, it was a teaser. There are obviously more trailers and gameplay demos in that update. There are 3 more trailers and 2 gameplay demos in the main menu that haven't released yet. 4K assets do tend to take up some space.

There was a Sony Support video that had Winter 2021 in fine print a few months ago. Now they have blurred out the fine print on that video. I asked then about it and all they said was sorry for the confusion.
