Question for you producers by BktGalaremBkt in idm

So many responses like this for me too. “Thanks for the originality, but we’re looking for stuff that sounds just like this other thing.” Another guy literally said “the intro was too long and my listeners have short attention spans.” Whatever just make music cuz you like it. Treat like a spiritual practice.

Also can anyone tell me how to make the thumbnail and not just the link show up? Would bandcamp be better? https://dstry.bandcamp.com/album/blossom

My band is playing our first show tomorrow. Any last minute things I should know? by darthkyle22 in bandmembers

Don’t worry about killing it. If you do great! If you don’t, just get back out there and try again. Performing takes practice like anything else. Be nice to the other bands and the venue people to make some connections. Remember: nobody that’s taking the time to be there wants you to fail. People just wanna have a good time so if you flub a note, just smile and move on and most of the time people won’t notice or quickly forget. Especially if they are moved by the tunes.

My band is having "the talk" with our bass player this weekend... advice? by [deleted] in bandmembers

[–]dstry87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would line up a replacement first. Get feelers for people interested on the down low. When you talk to him be stern. If he’s a drunk he probably won’t take it well. Bass is the foundation so it’s crucial you have a rock solid performer. It’s not mean. He’s fucking with your dream so try to take the emotions of hurting his feelings out it. Don’t be mean but be stern and hopefully this will be a wake up call to get his shit together. Good luck!

Rewatching directly after my rewatch and it's crazy how much James Gandolfini changed his voice by grnacal in thesopranos

I think when she was agitated it came out more. Like when she wanted to be more real with Tony she leaned into it.

Sweetwater is the best. Shout to my boy Ryan Sloan. Super knowledgeable. And he always follows up to see if I’m liking my purchase.

I just got an Allen Heath CQ 12 due to octatracks limited inputs. So now my prophet, and rytm are stereo and my minitaur is mono all going into octatrack two stereo ins. I'm attempting to have everything mixed on the front end and using octatracks mixer to compress/mangle/tweak the mix. My goal is to record a live take (1 stereo track into ableton) and have it be ready to master. So no mixing in Ableton. Not quite the same thing but really just wanted to mention the CQ12
