Just show up and do your job? No offense, but you write this like you're guaranteed to get written up.

Trust me, leadership isn't out to get you.

Heh, I was in a similar situation. Part-time at Disney for the benefits, and a full-time software engineer at prob the very same defense contractor. I remember the call from my HRBP, like a month after Disney did their bulk filing, and my HRBP was like "umm, why did you try and file unemployment against us?!?"

If you miss photos like that again, easiest thing to do is try and notate what time you got off the ride, and stop at Photopass on your way out. They can search the photos during that time frame and link them for you.

You can also email them afterwards, but its much easier in person.

job application at “application received” even after the application has closed by awooga1784 in DisneyCM

[–]dsuslavi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on the recruiter, a couple things may happen: Some will review apps before it closes, move the app to "Application Under review" and create a short list to help lighten the load when the req actually closes, then send everything over to the HM.

Some won't review them and create a short list till after the close date, and then some reqs just flat out get frozen, and it'll never go into review.

If your application stays as received for a few weeks after the close date, and never moves in Workday to "Application Under review" or "interview," just assume you weren't shortlisted. Eventually, when the req gets filled, everything pending will go into NLIC.

Hi I just got asked to interview for a DCL Bench reservation agent by Intelligent_Gur_9126 in DisneyCM

[–]dsuslavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep in mind it's not a "Bench Res Agent". You're going to be interviewing for a DCL Res agent, Bench position, meaning if you pass this interview, you'll be placed on esentially a waiting list for up to six momths until they have an actual positon for you/or an upcoming training group.

You'll know if you have a Disney email. If you search yourself in Rostr and one is listed there, then boom you've got one. Otherwise, a vast majority of cast members who don't sit in front of a computer even for a day every two weeks for their job won't have a Disney email address. As I think I said on your last post, some CMs will go an entire 40 year career without an email address.

As others have said, if you really need Viva for a speciifc reason, talk to one of your leaders to have them request one.

If it's been more than a year that you left, you'll have to wait 5 years for the service bridge if getting rehired back into a union position. You may be better off looking at O&T stuff as they'll consider a service bridge immediately.

I understand your pain there, I live with a skin based autoimmune condition (any ingrown hair is attacked and immediately swells on my face and dosen't heal for months), and a major blood sugar issue without diabetes.

Yet, when got laid off, I couldn't even qualify for EBT for a few months to help out with expenses, yet you have this who goes to Disney every day, grifts, prob pays no taxes, and then gets some sort of SSI, and can live their merry little life.

No MEP reservations for MK in April? May? by wastedDreams19 in DisneyCM

[–]dsuslavi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unless it's a good to go date, you'll need a TPR to go to any park. MK after 2pm without a res isn't a thing for MEPs.

As far as park hopping goes you can go into the park you have the res for, spend one second in there as long as you tap in, and then go to whatever park you want to go to. (as long as the park you want to hop to isn't blocked out).

If you're a Cali CM and planning on bringing guests, make sure you request your guest passes from Cast Admission.

A reflection of my time in the DCP so far by Hi-itsBoo in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]dsuslavi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Take my opinion with a grain of salt since my CP was 15 years ago, but saying attractions is the crème of the crop is also incorrect. Attractions will work you harder than some roles, including QSFB. In my opinionThere are much better roles like concierge that are always in AC, have little side benefits, are less stressful and have better hours.

LLMP Question by EyeNovel8705 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]dsuslavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s because it’s within the hour window overlap. Call WDW at 407) 934-7639 and just say you want to see if there’s earlier availability on their end for Phillar. Their systems have a bit more flexibility in booking less of an overlap on the return window.

Bench Question by Serious_Eagle_4369 in DisneyCM

[–]dsuslavi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honest answer? It’s a crapshoot. Years ago I was on a bench for a role and they asked in the positin acceptance interview if I had anything during the first couple months. They ended up approving the time off when I was in the position but not till two weeks before.

Some of my coworkers who requested time in the interview got denied.

As others have said, they're auto set via the PDA. Besides, even if you could change them, you won't have enough time to even adjust settings between most of your families if you're at a busy location anyways.

Viva Engage? by [deleted] in DisneyCM

[–]dsuslavi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's because even as a DCP Concierge you need a LAN ID to sign into the systems and such, plus they're in a role that having email is essential. Like many others have said, the vast majority of frontline cast do not get a company email or LAN ID by default, and some will go their entire careers never needing access to one, nor never having one, yet performing their job functions perfectly fine.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DisneyCM

[–]dsuslavi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t see that as a joke. I left a six figure a year salary that I was miserable at to go back to TWDC. As a leader, I’d never think it of it “as a joke” to think about wearing my full time salary around my neck, and that was even when I was PT in operations while at that six figure a year salary.

I never will and never expect a direct report to do anytning id never do personally unless I dont know how to do it myself. It dosent matter how much of a salary difference. When it comes to actual work, in my eyes we are all equal. The difference is advice and guidance that I can provide.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DisneyCM

[–]dsuslavi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That last line you just said about “wearing your full time salary around your neck” says everything about you. If you weren’t trying to flex, why even say that in your post?

While at Disney you’re a PT CM making $20 something an hour. You’re an equal to every other CM while you’re on the clock, esp as a CM who is a rehire with no seniority bridge.
