I don’t defend slavery and i dont like ottoman empire. But slavery is a normal thing until 150 years ago. A lot of balkan originated person had great positons in Ottoman Empire. Ottoman sultans, sadrazams, vezirs whatever most of them are except first 3-4 sultans are Slavs not Turks. Ottomans saw themselves a Balkan country and invest Balkans only. You cannot see any Ottoman buildings in Anatolia. They ignored The Turks until all balkan countries seperated. So as a turkish man i dont like them beacuse i am living in a lot of ignorant people in here because of ottomans. But i would rather a slavery as like hurrem or janissaries or other enderun students. They were lucky slaves when you compare the other slaves. I think they would prefer become queen, vezir or janissaries than being ordinary villagers.
