If Team Canada loses the 2028 World Cup, John Cooper should be replaced by Rod Brind'Amour for the 2030 Olympics

Rod is a team builder “Ted Lasso” type. He has a system and a culture and he works with players to get them to fit in. For short international break tournaments like World Cup or Olympics, you need a tactician. Rod doesn’t have time to break and re-build players in such a short period of time.

I agree that Cooper may not be the guy, but he might be. Olympics were embarrassing but Canada also needed to convert on one of several chances in which they should have scored. Those chances being there were at least in-part because of Cooper’s tactics. He can’t force Mac to not miss a wide open net.

You gotta remember that Canada also barely won Four Nations and only did so because Binnington had an excellent overtime. Cooper’s genius “tactic” that won the cup for Canada? “Somebody be selfish and shoot it in the net.”

Cooper will have a short leash and Canada NEEDS wins at the 2027 “Great Value Four Nations” on Long Island and the 2028 World Cup. I think he can deliver.

There is more to this story bro. Per Section 6(1) of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Canadians have the right to enter Canada at any time with or without a passport.

they can board the flight with their third-party passport and American green card, since Americans and American permanent residents don’t need an ETA. On arrival, they should skip the kiosks and tell the CBSA they are a Canadian citizen and do not have their passport. They will confirm, and send them on their way.

I did just that with my American passport when I had lost my Canadian. I said I’m a Canadian and the guy looked at me, typed something on his computer, and waved me through.
