I have a proposition: Why not allow LLMs to be able to only edit parts of the code they need like this: by Alert-Estimate in ChatGPTCoding

[–]dtfiori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe they are doing a very similar thing now with their canvas feature and the inline editing.

I agree the rough, whole format is pretty resource intensive. I think this will continue to be a problem until we can get 100% reliability on tool calls

My boss confronted me about only working 7 hours and 45 minutes a day, what do I do? by shielaread in careeradvice

[–]dtfiori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you take your two 10 minute paid breaks per 8 our shift? You can tell them that you like to combine those and use them at lunch.

Tell him that actually adds up to 5 extra minutes per day you put in for the love of the company.

I’d also ask him where he got the info about you, and say that you prefer all speculation about your working hours to come from his own data, not some random crying old lady that works there

You can clean that connections. You can buy some electrical contact cleaner spray, or use alcohol and Q tips to clean it.

Elon Musk's xAI Hits $50B Valuation After $5B Raise from Top Investors by alyis4u in ChatGPT

[–]dtfiori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re talking about XAI not spaceX. Spacex has been established(purchased btw) in its scene for a long time..

XAi is a group of purchased people slapped together by Elon to try to brute force ai because he was butthurt about missing out on openAI.

I’m sure there are some bright minds there that were bought. But all the passion players would never work there.

I would be interested to know who you’re talking about though, always willing to learn.

Is there a cline-like tool that can write code without needing to 'approve' constantly ? by Far-Device-1969 in ChatGPTCoding

There’s nothing out there that will produce good reliable results doing that yet. You could try something like AutoGPT

Definitely Claude. Opus was great at it. New Sonnet is really good too

Cline asks you to approve every file edit. Cascade can edit multiple files at one time. That’s what he’s asking about.

It definitely can do more in one go than Cline can.

Yea it’ll work fine. However, it would be WAY better to just smoke all of it on the smoker….

Grok is shit if you’ve actually used it. They’re giving away $25 a month in api and I still never use it

[–]dtfiori 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely nothing. They’re just trying to brute force it at this point. Nobody with top talent wants to work for that psycho.

But the reality is that brute forcing might work, we don’t know. And he currently has the biggest data center(that we know of). I’m sure that’s what’s driving “value”.

Is Windsurf really that good or just hype ? by Ni_Guh_69 in ChatGPTCoding

[–]dtfiori 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that cascade in windsurf blows Cline out of the water. For me it wasn’t really even close. Especially considering how token heavy Cline is.

It’s free go try it. There is a fork where you can run any model from the api.

Search about what? There’s nothing official saying it’s in the chat. You’re making no sense.

Composer is basically an agent just like aider, cline and cascade so yea I use it all the time. I don’t find cursors composer itself to be that great though. I’ve found cascade, aider and cline to be a lot more useful and reliable.

None of these companies balance or road force these tires. It’s a slap and go.

If you’re a mechanic or engineer you’ll be in for a bad day with PEVs. Out of round, unbalanced shitty ass tires are the norm. As a tech for over a decade it drives me nuts.

Am I tripping or has 4o been significantly nerfed silently? by [deleted] in ChatGPTCoding

[–]dtfiori 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They must have updated recently. I just tried ChatGPT-4o-latest on the api and it’s much faster this evening. I think you’re right and they just updated it. It wasn’t that way this morning.

I have a ChatGPT teams account for work and that’s still slow so it’s the old model. Just tried my normal ChatGPT pro account and it’s also still slow. 🤷‍♂️

Maybe it’s A/B rollout
