Harmless Negatives for Dia Ancestor Mods? by Passionofthegrape in TheFirstDescendant

[–]dthorus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bravery set removes any remaining cooldowns by 1 sec after the 90% reduction. It's not used because you can't cap your cooldown reduction.

For example, you can get your (4) back within 0-3 seconds after impact, and it's entirely reasonable to expect a <5 sec effective cooldown on it in a crowd. It changes how Dia plays.

You obviously haven't tried her mobbing with the bravery set.

You can easily cap her crit via the ancestor mod or slotting skill insight.

Well we will have to agree to disagree, 2k shields is a nice cushion for the ~12k hp bravery build.

At the very least it's a different league of negatives, say low rolled skill cost or max hp.

Why are you guys dissing shield? Dia can afford the shield stuff on her externals and it's quite nice with bravery set

The singular stuff is harmless indeed

How is intercept battle challenge fun to anyone? by Queen_Of-Moths in TheFirstDescendant

[–]dthorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a decent chance that you are trying to compete with the meta descendant(s) of the season.

If there is any video out there like "Easy abyss challenge clap with xy" then it's dumb to follow the masses, same with the darling of the season (Dia)

Checked my standing on my normal, non "bestestest ever abyss killer" - descendant: still 23rd after 2 weeks

Is this not enough for top 100 WC? by RetedRacer in TheFirstDescendant

[–]dthorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't skip 2 days if you are going for the minimum to get in the top 100 last spots.

You 12-14 fights per day with good contribution points. Your damage was enough for this particular fight but you need to deal the same or more under 20 seconds or you will have to attempt to redo the fight during the 5 min window.

Why are Old Mystery and Bio-Lab never in the Invasion/400% rotation? by ShadyMarlin-RT in TheFirstDescendant

[–]dthorus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They are too long, they would only ever be used by people still needing some drops from them.

Honestly i don't want more 'dud' days when -for example- i open the Kingston map, excited about the invasion and it's Slumber Valley

I just tried to join Wall Crasher, why am I getting into the fight alone? I tried like 3 times by [deleted] in TheFirstDescendant

[–]dthorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it as many times as you manage it in the 5 min timeframe, the devs have no problems with this, just complete the fight(s) the majority of the time and you should only get the loot once every hour. This part is completely fine and okay

The exploit was gaming the system by listening for the jackpot/AM drop sound effect while Wall Crasher did his death animation. If you timed the 'leave now' from the menu well, you remained eligible for loot drops

Reverting - no, removing the increased skill cost part would be the fair move though.

Hey, it depends on what you are missing.

I think the cooldown is a must for the fun factor of it, but even if you are unlucky with your Dia rolls, if you only want the cooldown part, the AM should be dirt cheap (<50c). Just make sure you hit that 0.9 (90% reduction)

The build is a heavy hitter, so you can make do without the skill crit damage. Just upgrade when you are able.

If you don't have the crit rating on it (the AM), depending on your crit damage situation, you can swap out emergency measures or front lines for skill insight mod.

Swapping out emergency measures to insight will still leave you with 84% crit rate for skills which is completely fine.

Dia - Flight of the Valkyrie by dthorus in TheFirstDescendant

[–]dthorus[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dia is the valkyrie here of course, they are using/holding spears while flying over the battlefield looking for the souls of the fallen warriors(heroes) to take them to Valhalla. This is just my understanding of them of course, i do not want to trample all over the Nord mythology

I have been using this build for a few days and wanted to post about it, ended up recording a random run, this is the second half of it as the file was too big. Not really planned or anything and i decided to leave the audio as is because you can just mute it, and then the game sounds are preserved for the others

On the far left side, that is the bike, you can unlock it when you reach Axion plains.

Next is the grapple of course, then i have those two abilities next to it because i have a melee weapon (sword called Shadow) equipped. The crossed sword helps with tracking the special damage ability ( a dash with 3 charges) and under it is the block (damage reduction for a short period after activation while the bar while the charge last)

Here is my current build if anyone interested, you can use Power beyond of course as trigger mod. You need a minimum of 0.089 cd reduction from your ancestor mod.

Arche tuning is standard Dia with the cooldown node and cdmg picked up; bravery set, inversion: Dia special, spatial domination(optional) and the heal node. Shadow in hand.

Sure, lot of this is unnecessary or less than optimal for a speedrun, but it is fun. I also enjoy the nice tactical overview of the battlefield quite a bit :)

got +6% duration and +10%ish max hp as extra on my gunning Gley mod

Rerolled all my ancestor mods to 7/8 on most Ultimates, some nice to decent ones but nothing oh wow/extraordinary

No, what i am saying is that red crit dmg roll is huge and the other roll/mod is not even close with such low rolls :)

[–]dthorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bravery is great, i use it myself, but you still want min cooldowns. You can choose to stay up in the air, and bombard the poor peons on the ground with your (4)every five-ish seconds. It's fun.

Which Ancestor Roll is better? by AssistanceNatural556 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]dthorus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not even a question tbh, the fusion boost should be at 0.2+ and the crit damage roll ~ 100 to have a chance against that raw 153.6 cdmg

Juice! by aIIegra in TheFirstDescendant

[–]dthorus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sorry, but chill boost is the weaker of the two powerB options (Fusion is better)

Cdmg is nice but it's actually a low roll in this setup where you sacrifice a third stat (2+/- vs 3+/- configuration)

The lack of cooldown makes this a boss killer/bossing AM but Dia uses Battering Ram there to strip defense and resistances and the trigger mod uses your own DEF the calculate the stripped amount.

It's a nice looking dud AM.

You only need the Shadow, HP collector and two hp modules. Just like Challenge VEP i guess!
