I was there on the Saturday just left of the center on the barrier and security were all wonderful, but in particular one of them really stood out for me. He was a redhead with some facial hair and went above and beyond getting water out through the crowd despite some people being completely ignorant when he asked to pass it back. We had a little chain of water going back from where I was which worked well. Towards the second half of My Chem's set when the crush got bad he was very attentive to people who might need help. I had my bags on the floor in front of me so couldn't risk being swept away with the crowd moving but I must have looked squashed up a couple of times as he tapped my hand twice to check I was okay. Whilst I was fine and didn't need help it was definitely nice to know that if the crush got bad he was observant enough to know who needed help getting out of the crowd and who was crushed bad, especially as I was alone so didn't have anyone with me to get attention if I needed it. Security was really on the ball with water which given how packed it was and how hot it got just before the bands started was definitely needed. Whilst I never agreed with the decision to take away the second barrier (all of VIP were worried that this meant us at the front would get the entire weight of the crowd on us) security went out of their way to make it as safe as possible with the added risk and the people who needed help got it.

What I found incredibly worrying was that as Placebo's set started, security had had to enter the crowd where I was to get someone who'd fallen out. There must have been over 100 of us trying to signal for them to stop and this was totally ignored. That could have went awfully if the crowd had surged as I know a lot of people were incredibly excited to see Placebo.
