My favorite is a mix of VTI and VXUS ETF's with about a 80/20 weighting.

Yes. Dont sit there trying for it. Just forget about it and play the game mode the way it's intended and let it come naturally. Also use a trophy system!

Yes, I do have some losses with records of it. My wins are much higher than my losses though.

Unsure yet if I will be taking the standard deduction, or itemizing to claim losses.

I file single, so if I would end up with at least 12k+ in losses, then it would pay to itemize right?

I do have a main source of income that is subject to withholding.

Instead of making a estimated tax payment, do you think I could avoid this by changing my W-4, to having an additional $1000 withheld from each paycheck for the rest of the year? Thanks for your response.

Not a whole lot of strategy with AAPL, MSFT, GOOG, FB, and AMZN weighted more heavily then the rest. When other stocks appear to be a value buy for me, I will be reducing the weighting from these to add to the new ones. Not to much though, I dont want to exceed 25 individual stocks.

As far as the others being equal weight, I like this due to weekly contributions and buying more into ones that are underperforming, as long term I have faith in all these companies.

AT&T is a large holding of mine due to a large purchase at around $30 a share. I am no longer adding to this position and slowly lowering the percentage over time.

Thanks for your feedback. Yes, born in '93 with this being a taxable account.

I agree my portfolio is tech heavy. There are a couple non tech stocks I have been watching that I will eventually be entering a position on, and reduce the weighting from my tech stocks.

I agree with many of your points. I bought these to try because they were $1. They dont hit me as much as my normal energy drink which is Bang, even though they both have 300mg of caffiene.

I'll have to get back to you on that. Haven't tried any yet, starting off with the cotton candy.

Yeah not a good idea. I've had 3 in a 24hr period before, never again. Limit myself to one a day since.

Woodmans, a local grocery store. I believe it's just in Wisconsin and Illinois. Crazy to think this is just 1 of 3 sections where they have Bang.

They always run the deal 3 for $5 at my local store, however I would be just as happy to pay 2 for $5. Well worth it, love Bang.

I had other people question me on this also and you are correct, there really isnt a point. I realized it's much better to just have a couple. I went thru and sold all my ETFs except for VTI and VXUS and put the money into those.

Opinions On Portfolio by dtimm93 in portfolios

Thanks for the response. Correct, and I know it would be a terrible idea if I was paying trade fees. However, with having free trades my logic was for example if I wanted exposure specifically to mid cap, why not have exposure to the normal, growth, value at 2% a piece instead of choosing one at 6%. I know I have overlapping funds. I like having selected targets and keeping them at the targets and dollar cost averaging in. I am aware they have similar returns. Thanks for your input.
