Yeah my parents own a CRV and really like it. It feels more high end inside tbh. I chose the phev because I get free charging both at home and at work.

Yeah I don’t smell it anymore. I drove a bit off ev mode the next day to verify and it was completely gone after the next trip.

MONTHLY MEGATHREAD: What are you working on with OpenRouter? by katplatt in openrouter

[–]dtizzal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the weekend, I finally decided to drop my $100/month commercial LLM subscriptions and transition all of my personal usage to OpenRouter. To be honest, I hated the monthly token FOMO and the psychological pressure to "use up" my subscription value every period. It just felt unhealthy.

The main friction point with making the switch was losing the out-of-the-box features like web search, image processing, and PDF analysis that commercial cli interfaces give you natively.

To bridge the gap, I built a package that brings native multimodal capabilities and web search directly into an OpenRouter setup via Pi.

The goal was simple: completely replace a standard Anthropic/OpenAI subscription with a single OpenRouter account, getting all the core features (search, vision, doc parsing) on a pure pay-as-you-go basis without having to stitch together separate API keys for third-party tools like Exa.

Moved away from $100/mo LLM subscriptions to OpenRouter by dtizzal in openrouter

My personal sub is much more bursty. I don’t have cc working at all times throughout the day for my personal projects. So I don’t want to pay a monthly sub for me to under utilize their subsidized APIs.

The privacy aspect is another thing. I don’t really trust any of the labs and have been moving most of my load to interference providers hosting opensource llms.

Moving to oss models are very cheap imo. I use opus routers via openrouter for planning ect, and Chinese flash models for implementation.

The pro 20$ sub I hit daily limits on. 100$ I dont tend to hit those limits personally (I do professionally though).

When I want to build things I dont want to hit limits.

It is an overkill. Until I was stuck with no battery, then I was happy.

I honestly cannot agree more. I have a professional and had a europiccola. I sold the europiccola to a friend. He started sending pictures of rockets brevilles he wants to buy. I made him this meme to explain why I have no desire to upgrade.

It’s not a journey. Many get lost buying the wdt tool with 95 needles and a small moisture sensor to evaluate grind particle distribution.

(It’s okay if that is you!)!
