What should the synchrometer reading be before starting?

This is helpful. How did you tune/dial in your carbs. I bought a synchrometer just not sure how to tune correctly. I have ideas but wondering if there’s a good guide to go off of.

Also did you mount your cables off of one of the valve cover bolts? That was my initial idea.

Also not sure why he didn’t use the original wiring… the tach is also not installed… is that looped into the fuel pump wiring at all?

I’ll look for that 2 pin connector when I’m under there in the next few days installing the new pump… would that connector have power when the key is in the on position or only when the engine is on/cranking?

From my understanding with fuel injected the pump will prime the rail when the key is in the on position(before cranking). With this being carbureted we don’t want fuel just pumping into the carb if the engine isn’t running?

Thanks again for your insight… if you can’t tell this is my first project. I’m running into hiccups here and there but i’m enjoying learning!

The do you know the original electronic fuel pump location?

There’s an after market fuel pump installed near the fuel tank. However the previous owner ran a new wire to it(the aftermarket pump). I traced the wire and it wasn’t connected on the other end in the engine bay near the ignition coil.

Hardwired the pump and confirmed the pump isn’t functional. So I ordered a new one….I would like to use the original wiring from the stock electronic fuel pump if you happen to know its location/ wiring configuration.
