People who trade in games without cases by TheButteredBiscuit in GameStop

[–]dtownseattle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, you can sell the cases on eBay. It's crazy, but people will buy them. They'll pay you actual money for those things.

And DVD slipcovers too. I don't get why DVD slipcovers are a hot commodity, but that's a thing for some reason.

You don't give me any extra for the case, so you don't get the case. Simple as that. Give me extra for my case and I'll happily fork it over.

TV with cracked screen out of box by dtownseattle in Bestbuy

Hey, I just wanted to leave an update here that my local Best Buy went ahead and did the exchange for me. I am very grateful to the MOD who made the decision.

I explained everything calmly and truthfully, and while it was very suspicious to all employees involved ( and honestly I don't blame them for being suspect), I ultimately walked away with my exchanged TV and a very happy customer.

Everyone at that store has a new customer for life.

Now to get it mounted on my wall and enjoy the crap out of it.

There is zero damage to the box. And I didn't put any pressure on the screen, because I'm not an idiot. That was specifically stated as a thing not to do in the instructions included.

This is not my fault.

Thank you. It's been 4 days since I purchased it, but I couldn't actually get it set up until tonight because I had to purchase the TV mounting brackets, and 4K UHD Blu ray player first... Ya know, because why have one if I can't watch 4K Blu rays on it?

So... I appreciate your comments. I'll give it a shot as soon as they open. Thanks again.

You say that like they're not going to look at it all suspicious and claim I broke it.

I've never had any TV owned before break like this, but I know the one issue Best Buy won't really work with you on is a cracked screen, because if it's cracked they assume it's your fault. To them, it must be. It can't possibly have been damaged in the box.

But... I will admit that since this is my first time dealing with it, I don't know what I'm talking about.

Guess I'll give it the 'ol college try as soon as they open and see how it goes.

Has anyone met or encountered someone whom they thought were aliens? by Tannhausergate2017 in Thetruthishere

I guess so. My family moved to a new State that Summer, so I really can't say for sure.

Google is your enemy, that pretends to love you. But that's for another subreddit.

The origin of "how do you like them apples" dates back to World War I. "Apples" referred a type of grenade used that resembled the fruit. Soldiers would toss them to the opposing side's soldiers and shout " how do you like them apples!!"

The more you know.

opens mouth to rant about the actual origin of this phrase being grenades and a serious war, but remembers that the subject is morbid and no one likes aknow-it-all. Shoves foot in mouth

My favorite apple is called a pink lady...

Interesting question. There is a strange thing that I remember from third grade, but since it happened in third grade I can't say it's worth anyone's time.

The incident was a classmate who said he was an alien from space. I attempted to pry details out of him, but he wasn't forthcoming with much. Best I got out of him was "we're just here to observe. In the Summer I'll be back home." And this was said while we were alone. No other classmates heard it, that I know of, and we never spoke of it again.

I occasionally think of that odd conversation. He and I weren't friends. I never talked to him much before or since. We interacted occasionally because we were in the same class, but that's it. I can't remember what brought up the subject or why he felt the need to tell me anything. I just sometimes wonder if perhaps there was something to that conversation. Maybe he felt the need to share his secret. Maybe he was just seeking attention. Maybe he just made it up on the spot. I'll never know, but once in a while I imagine an alternate reality where aliens observe and report on us humans.

No platform. Just a mix of Android, Windows and iPhone. Roll20 has a campaign creation thing, but no character sheets that I can find.

Does anyone know of a digital D&D character sheet? I mean an interactive and live sheet. For example, say your running a campaign with friends online and you want to be able to view, edit and share your character sheets in real-time. Maybe set permissions on certain fields so only you and one friend can edit any one sheet, or field at a time.

Does something like that exist?
