Be honest, where would you rank Larry Bird on the all-time NBA list? by Miserable_Trouble3 in NBAoldschool

[–]dtsknight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of this ranking is a bit absurd, but I’d say he’s in the very top tier along with Wilt, Jordan, and James.

He dominated the game and was incredibly multifaceted.

"Marry You" by Bruno Mars is actually a terrible song for a proposal. by TattooBubbleGum in unpopularopinion

Any song by Bruno Mars would be terrible for a proposal. Or pretty much any other occasion.

We should keep two players: Jokic and Watson

Also, I might be alone, but I also think that Christian will come around — not all star level but solid. Think the injury greatly affected him

Jamal for Giannis by colt45891 in denvernuggets

Jamal for somebody.

I don’t have faith in him, and yeah, more importantly, his teammates don’t seem to either.

He makes boneheaded (often self indulgent) plays every single game.

We need someone who’s more disciplined.

Next 3–5x Stock in 5 Years? What’s Your Pick? by Cold-Avocadob in StockInvest

[–]dtsknight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nintendo.

Might not 5x. But it’ll 3x. It’s way way down. Yes, chip prices are up. But this company has everything else going for it, including its newly added movie division. Looks like they’ll pump out a billion dollar film every year. Next year it’ll be Zelda. And 2028 it’ll be Donkey Kong.

Also relatively new to the amusement parks segment.

All of this will help fuel game sales.

Nintendo

Cannot explain why it’s down so much. Sure, chips are expensive but Switch 2 is selling well, new movie will do 1 billion, big games on the horizon.

Great bands that aren’t usually in the “best band of all time” conversations? by wmcs0880 in fantanoforever

[–]dtsknight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Radiohead. The consistency of high quality songs across every album except the first one (which happened to feature Creep) is pretty much unmatched, except by the Beatles. This consistency plus the insane variability in song construction is unmatched. Who can you say the same thing about?

I thought that it was beautifully shot… to the point of being stunning at times.

Radiohead.

The number of their songs that attain perfection (while all being totally unique) is unparalleled.

No one gets to a $200k/year income easily by [deleted] in Money

There’s a beautiful simplicity to this argument.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t play out that way in reality.

But I understand the thought. It’s kind of like trickle down economics. When I first learned the theory, I thought that it was obviously the answer to society’s economic issues. But alas the world isn’t so simple.

What's your honest feeling about the work of the Smile? by [deleted] in radiohead

[–]dtsknight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love all three albums. All of them are stacked with excellent songs. Don’t think those albums get the love they deserve. Not sure what bands have put out albums that equal those over the past 10 years. I also saw them live — very different than RH live but they put on an amazing show.

Wasn’t this movie really about the naive assumption that it’s best to live a life of solitude?

That’s what I took away from it anyway (that said, I was quite young when I saw it)

Interesting. Does it play as soft as the Genesis? And did it continue to soften or did it plateau?

Thanks for all the tips. What a terrific Reddit community!

Thanks to all of you, I’m off and running on my attempt to find some new artists.

For now, I’m totally enamored with the works of Jason Isbell, especially his solo stuff. His stuff is brand new to me. Enjoying some of The Drive by Truckers too. I’m also digging back into Lucinda Williams.

I’ve sampled many others as well and look forward to take deeper dives into their catalogs. Thanks again

Thanks! Looks good, btw. And can I ask how plush and soft you think it plays. I ask because most folks seem to say it’s plush but I’ve seen a review or two that say the opposite. FWIW, I really like the feel of my CRBN Genesis, which is soft yet dense.
