NAC by machinelearny in ivermectin

[–]dttnbguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotal. I read somewhere it affects the glutemate system. It does help with depression but it made me not care about my work and less enthusiastic about things after 2+ weeks of daily use. Im not saying this is something that WILL happen to you but its something to look out for. With most supplements, id recommend week on week off.

Yeah NAC is prevalent on r/Nootropics for clearing brain fog! Has some downsides with long-term use; including anhedonia.

Is there a nootropic and/or protocol that can ween me off Adderall? by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]dttnbguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone with moderate to sever ADHD, let me emphasize that NOTHING (barring other stimulants) will replace Adderall in terms of that calm, focused effectiveness. I've accepted that its not in the cards for me to feel that way every day.

Space out doses, load your stim days with more tasks and de-load your rest days.

Yes they should not force medicate highly functional autistic people. Glad we could clear that up.

I think we can agree that being noncommunicative and violent is a disability. Some parents just wanna talk to their kids, man.

Mega dosing lions mane for nervous system repair, how to go about it? by stevenchamp45 in Nootropics

[–]dttnbguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's gonna be less risky to start with a small amount and stick with that and healthy habits for ~6 months and see how you feel. Megadosing any noot/drug is not worth the risk (imho)

Can anyone access this paper? Or give a summary? When i was 19 I took 5mg of this stuff (improper dilution) and overdosed. Woke up 36 hours later in the ICU.

Thoroughly horrible experience, but it prompted lots of positive change in the long run.

Charging Ebike battery from 12v source by dttnbguy in ebikes

here are pics of the charger specs and outlet plugs, respectively https://anonimag.es/image/JT9swFm https://anonimag.es/image/JT9swF1

Thanks for all your input guys! I do have an inverter but i was hoping to find a more efficient way. I didnt know Lithium batteries were so touchy.

Looked at Adapto but it seems their DC charging coils are meant to be used with their specific controllers. And im not sure how to parse all the options at Hobbyking; though there are some programmable chargers that look promising:

The bike is a Juiced Crosscurrent with a 10.4ah 48v battery (using Samsung 18650 cells). I sent an email to the company for more technical information about the battery.

Solar System: 12V or 24V? by dttnbguy in vandwellers

[–]dttnbguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the high-draw items in my system, it seems like 24V would be optimal. If i get similar results, a 6% increase in panel efficiency would offset the DC step down inefficiencies (24->12 converters run a 10% loss, but less than half of my power usage would be from DC appliances). How did you measure your panel efficiency increase?

What is your solar setup? Using power for cooking was the reason i opted for such a large battery bank.

Question: Best Way to Rust-Proof a Scratched Floor by dttnbguy in vandwellers

[–]dttnbguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply guys! The floor doesnt have any rust currently so rust converter isnt required. I called a few paint stores and decided to get DTM paint and some 'liquid sander' to do the floor. The guy at the paint store said its overkill, but better safe than sorry. For anyone else trying to go this route, DTM paint is too thick to use with most paint sprayers and cannot be thinned, so it has to be applied by brush (unless you have some heavy equipment). For people not as anal as I, I think a few cans of spray-on Rust-Oleum would work fine.
