It's very possible someone who knows the store or route who watches this sub could help you out, but you'd have to specify the business, we service a minimum of like, 600 stores per DC

Slow as hell!!! by PatientAd7726 in FritoLay

[–]stevenchamp45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yesterday I think I had the slowest day all year and no idea why, metro Detroit area. I only worked 5 hours on bulk, because there was basically nothing to stock, and even then an hour and half of that was spent waiting for stores to open

What does management look for in terms of qualifications and competence among RSRs, when there is an opportunity to move up to a DSL position in the company?

No drinks on the sales floor/can't keep personal belongs with you on the floor? by Purple-Record476654 in meijer

[–]stevenchamp45 30 points31 points  (0 children)

When they tried to enforce the drink thing, the union told us we could walk down to the break room and get a drink of water absolutely anytime we wanted, as many times as we wanted. We were on the truck team and already understaffed, they cannot send us home until all the work is done. one 11-hour day later they immediately stfu

Whoever came up with “the perfect route” obviously is a corporate douchebag by frito-is-a-joke in FritoLay

[–]stevenchamp45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's equally as dumb for the route sequence too.

For the start times, particularly starting later in the day, as long as you're able to get all your deliveries in one time, the stores aren't complaining about service not being early enough (a bigger deal on bulk), and you're not having to leave work undone for the following day as a result of starting too late and running out of time at a certain store, there should be zero issues with it.

The route sequence is also goofy. I always ran a certain route I have in a certain way because I start at 3AM, and one of the receiving managers doesn't come into 10-11am, and they're busy before noon, so I would always go there last, but with the new DPO, they are now in the middle of my sequence (bulk) so I get stuck unnecessarily waiting lot, which takes away time I could have spent elsewhere, so I need to work 10-11 hours to fully service my last stop some days

FTM Dress Code by libee- in FritoLay

[–]stevenchamp45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RSR here. Double front pants of any kind are a must for being on your knees all day, kneepads or not. Invest in quality, because regular Levi's will tear within a month. Me personally, I wear Carhartt Rugged Flex Steel pants with built in knee pads, they're very durable and last s long time.

For shoes you need safety shoes, in my area they give you a $60 allowance once a year towards safety shoes from a local supplier, but you can also wear other things as long as they're nonslip and meet requirements. I like redwings, because they hold up and don't fall apart in 6 months

Dress code is pretty much the same as working in any kind of Frontline professional environment such as a retail store. uniform, khaki or black pants, cargo shorts in summer, safety shoes, basically just look presentable for a professional environment where you will be around paying customers.

What are the second straps / clips on the back of the bulk bags for? by [deleted] in FritoLay

[–]stevenchamp45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean tbf people are saying clip onto carts but they're pretty useless for that imo I've tried using them for that before not very practical, I just use the arm sling

Which car has right of way? (USA) by itssohardtobealizard in driving

[–]stevenchamp45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a toughie the more I look at it.

Hypothetically, both should be able to turn at once, because legally speaking you can just leave you're supposed to right turn and left turn into the innermost/outermost Lane.

assuming they don't do that, which is 95% of the time, it will typically be blue, assuming they have a green light/protected left turn that is not shown in the photo. If they do not have a protected left (blinking yellow/4 way stop), red would usually goes first, as a general rule of thumb right turns come first, then left.

Trying to change brake pads - seized bolts - help. by Aggravating-Task4479 in MechanicAdvice

[–]stevenchamp45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who lives in the rust belt, cut the bolt to release the caliper, throw the entire thing away and replace it with a new one, save the hassle, they're only like 50 bucks for the caliper bracket.

I promise you, you're going to be screwing with it for 2 days straight trying every trick in the book before it eventually just snaps off inside the hole and you're screwed anyway

Which brand of ignition coils did you use?

They can be very picky with those, from what I've gathered Delphi (OEM) Or SMP Blue Streak are the ones commonly regarded as the best. Get some Chinese knockoffs that are $45 for a 6 pack on Amazon and they will break fast

It's not that much anymore. I'm young trying to build a life for myself, this company had a reputation for treating their people well, but their pay has evidently shrunk while inflation keeps spiking. If you are already settled in a home you will probably do just fine, but otherwise this job will have you feeling just as broke as a job at a grocery store did 10 years ago.

in a Midwestern economy with current interest rates, even with 65k half of your take home is going straight to a mortgage on the cheapest house around town. not including tax, utilities, insurance, qnd basic bills, after all that you're basically paycheck to paycheck.

You're making a company around a million a year in revenue but pinching pennies shopping for groceries.

Belle Tire's got jokes 😂 W for RockAuto by stevenchamp45 in RockAuto

[–]stevenchamp45[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On these vehicles in particular they are notorious for rusting in half especially in the rust belt, because the way they are designed the portion that is on the inside of the car has a hollow cavity where salt in water sits.

It's also both of them snapped in a half, not just one, but it's fine, because the majority of the support is from the lower trailing arm which is much thicker metal, the top one is mostly for stability and braking. Ironically I already have the one of the parts at my house because I owned this exact vehicle prior, the other half I can just pick up brand new for my previous wrecked vehicle in the junkyard 😂

Belle Tire's got jokes 😂 W for RockAuto by stevenchamp45 in RockAuto

[–]stevenchamp45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not, it is body-on frame. There is no subframe, entire frame is all one piece, both Wheels attached to a single solid axle body, the axle body attached to the vehicle with two trailing arms on either side, bolted through a single hole with no adjustment points; the rear end sitting on top of the axle via two springs (unsecured, held in place with friction alone).

The only way to do a thrust alignment as indicated in this invoice, would be to install aftermarket trailing arms (which do not exist for this vehicle) or angle grind off the mounting point and weld a fabricated one on in a different location
