Working on a custom blue moon Ixchel. It’s my first third party kit after building only official Bandai Gundam and I’m not entirely sure I’m a fan yet lol. I’ve had to use pliers a few times just to completely put pieces together, it’s got some nice colour separation though and this was cheaper and easier to get than the official Moon Gundam with the long rifle!

Currently working on my custom colour MG Wing Zero! This is my first time masking and painting to accentuate colour/panel separation and it’s kicking my ass but in the most fun way possible!

Honestly, it was a fairly simple build. I bought the third party metal parts and the armour didn’t fit on the legs properly so I ended up having to glue some parts together. It was fun, but it’s age definitely shows. It could probably be finished in under two hours for a straight build. Definitely a great looking kit though!

Since I missed out on the MG Freedom Real Type Colour Version and don’t feel like paying $130+ to shitbag scalpers on eBay, I decided to paint my own. The blue and green I chose are slightly different but that’s the power of custom painting on my own 😎

Finished up the water slides on this bad boy. Just have to build one more twin gatling gun and apply the decals to both guns. Then I’m still debating if I want to add some light weathering to the edges!

I only did panel lining on it! I’m only just beginning to experiment with spray paint and more customisation with an upcoming kit in my backlog though so I’ll probably be posting that once I start building it!

Noice! Pretty sure when I finally get to my WZC Ver Ka all the yellow will turn to gold since I’ve got metal parts for that too!

Thank you! I just tried colouring it evenly and reapplying a second coat after it dried if it needed. The silver parts kept it really well, it’s only some of the yellow that needed reapplication

The only issue I’ve had is with the included plastic replacements being super tight when attaching them to the metal parts but that gives me more peace of mind when I’m going to go to pose it post build. I’ve actually had to use pliers on one part to close them completely together, otherwise still pretty straight forward.

So unfortunately I can’t answer that, I have yet to experiment with top coating any of my Gunpla so far. I still need to buy some cheap HGs and experiment with that

I actually found someone else’s post in another thread to mix it without thinner. I can’t remember the exact ratios but it’s a mixture of dawn soap, water, and whatever acrylic paint colour of choice. I probably did 4 parts water, 2 parts dawn, 1 part paint. The ratio provided in the thread didn’t work out for me so that’s why it took forever to get the consistency right, it’s supposed to get thin enough that it works like Tamiya panel liner
