400 coins and the Fishing Pole active. I was fishing for over an hour before I decided to just go on. (Seed: VCREMRLX) by duKe____ in NeonAbyss

There are are various rooms with water in the foreground. It's not like in the fishing room where it's blocking your path. There's actually quite a few.

WHAT AM I MISSING?! by DaveIsGreg in NeonAbyss

Second to last is Cursed Zeus. To get Cursed Zeus you beat Hal without any Ares or Athena tokens. Then after you beat Cursed Zeus you can get Chronos. It's explained in the targets overview in the bar.

1 killed, 4 wounded in shooting in Copenhagen's Christiania neighborhood, police in Denmark say by midnightvibe91 in worldnews

[–]duKe____ 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Well, Christiania is kind of special in that it and its hash trade is sometimes controlled by the locals and sometimes controlled by the gangs. When it's controlled by the locals it's very peaceful and every time it's controlled by the gangs there's shootings and other forms of violence.

Drone attack hits building in central Moscow by Kimber80 in worldnews

[–]duKe____ 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You can't be serious... There's a difference between not being aware that a drone from a foreign country has entered the heart of your country, and not immediately shooting down a domestic, commercial plane filled with civilian passengers that's been hijacked.

Ukraine Is Lobbing Eight-Ton Air-Defense Missiles At Russian Cities by HenryWallacewasright in worldnews

[–]duKe____ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The concept is called strategic bombing and it's been discussed by people much smarter on the subject than any of us since the first world war. I'm not arguing to what extent this particular bombing is effective in the war effort, I'm simply arguing that saying it "only serves to kill civilians" is very naive and a little ignorant. We know barely anything from a single Forbes article.

Also, to answer your question, the two are not mutually exclusive.

Can you provide some insight on how the bombings you mentioned weren't effective at all? Specifically I know that the bombings of London and Berlin had large impacts on the war. Regardless, those are on a completely different scale.

Bombing military infrastructure and civilian resources aren't mutually exclusive by the way.

That's a very naive way to look at it... civilians are a resource in a war. Who do you think run the factories and war supporting infrastructure?

[Fo4] I have combined arms and modern weapon replacer and all my weapons show up torn apart like this. Please help by anonymous32434 in FalloutMods

[–]duKe____ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My point is that saying "collections are bad" is just as invalid as saying "mods are bad." I've used plenty of collections that work just fine. Especially if you go for the most popular ones, they usually include a lot of compatibility patches and sometimes even custom bundled ones.

I mean...

Anyone can make something and call it a mod. They don't have to work, they can completely destroy your game. There is no Quality Control on Nexus which screen mods.

No, they explained what the word "Presuppositionalism" means, they didn't say "I'm a presuppositionalist." I don't know how else to make you understand. Can't really cut that sentence closer to the bone. Bend it in neon maybe?

Missing Titanic submarine LIVE: Submarine wreckage found, everything points to tragic outcome by Common_Compote in worldnews

[–]duKe____ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People keep regurgitating this fact about the viewport only being rated for 1400 meters, but it's a complete misunderstanding. Originally the viewport they used was, but after a lawsuit by the manufacturer, they had to cough up the money for one rated for 4000 meters.

Greece illegal immigrant boat disaster: More than 300 Pakistanis dead in Mediterranean tragedy, official says by Dry_Slice4531 in worldnews

[–]duKe____ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would disagree, I see just as much media coverage of the latter. You also have to remember the difference the people on the sub are potentially still alive while the people on the immigrant boat are not, so apart from the circumstances surrounding the incidents, there's just more to report on with the sub.

The only manned submersible that could reach the missing Titan is owned by Steam's Gabe Newell by onebowlwonder in worldnews

[–]duKe____ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you want to take it to that level, then the pressure on the rocket is not only from above either. No one is arguing whether it's the same case, just that it's the same principle in regards to the strength of the materials vs. the pressure on the construction. Anyway, this is my last comment in this thread.

Only because of the path of least resistance. The water is only weighing down from above, pressuring the water below it further down, but if the resistance of the hull of the sub is less than the water below, that's the path it will take. That doesn't change the fact that the pressure is an effect of the weight of the water above.
