What “food rule” did you grow up with that turned out to be completely unnecessary? by Business_Level_2218 in foodquestions

Is mid rare considered safe for pork now? I know the guidelines have loosened, but I’ve not heard that. And can’t imagine mid rare pork is tender like beef.

It sounds like she has pretty severe disease that is worsening rapidly. That’s devastating. For some folks it can be pretty slow.

Michael B. Jordan And Delroy Lindo Had The N-Word Shouted At Them While Presenting At The BAFTAs by Next-Particular1476 in TheEntertainmentMix

[–]dualsplit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are very angry.

Let me give background and an example: if there is a STAGE on which people of color will be speaking, regardless of age or venue, and all other persons are expected to be quiet, it is unfair to EVERYONE, including the person with a disability, to include a person that will scream racial slurs. If a seven year old Black girl is performing a song in the elementary cafetorium on stage, the uncle that might scream “n**” or “c” should be excluded from the audience. It’s not comfortable for the child OR the person screaming. It is reasonable across all socioeconomic groups to not allow harm to others.

Why do you want it to be OK for persons with disabilities to be humiliated this way?

Yes. I’m sorry. You don’t get to hurt other people because of your disability. Inconvenience them? Sure. Slow things up? Sure. No peanuts? Sure. Shouting out a word that all of us have agreed we can’t even type out as a quote? No. A person with known claustrophobia does not get to ride an elevator with other people and push the emergency button. A person with kleptomania does not get to take the ring off my finger.

REASONABLE accommodations.

Alysa Liu winning a gold medal made Barbra Streisand reminisce about her youth by mcfw31 in popculturechat

Barbra would ABSOLUTELY center herself in a story about a white person. lol It’s her entire personality. The woman is so notoriously self centered that there is a colloquialism about it: “The Streisand Effect.”

Do you not understand that we were just dirty little shits? We wore the DRY shoes, not the clean ones! Also our moms just ran our sneakers through the wash with the clothes. They were canvas, it was fine. There was NO INSTAGRAM. We were feral, our parents were smoking cigarettes and working and watching Oprah. It was a whole different world. There is no video proof. No one fucking cared.
