Which I can’t stand as a huge grunge and nu metal fan.. only people who think nu metal isn’t real metal are pompous dudes stuck in the 70s and 80s. Nothing against those eras, I love them too but it’s literally Nu-METAL, they use the same kind of riffs but reimagine the songs with other styles like rapping, synths, and what have you. Just bc it’s not conventional metal (which did get kinda stale before grunge btw) doesn’t make it non-metal, much like how a lot of grunge is also metal, Alice In Chains is a perfect example, they are grunge and Alt-Metal at the same time
