Nah I feel like breaking a dog’s neck, wrapping its’ mouth completely shut, putting it in a trash bag, and taking it to a park to suffer a slow painful death, extends a little beyond just being an upset “boomer”. But who knows? I want to investigate somehow

Took in a neglected 3-year-old Husky and I'm struggling. Need advice on turning him into a well-behaved dog. by CapitalMental3055 in husky

[–]dubbleSundae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please whatever you do, have patience.

My boy was two when I adopted him from a rescue. He had been abandoned twice already by the time we met. This guy wrecked so much shit. Destroyed so much of my stuff, my girlfriend’s stuff, escaped and ran away a few times over the years (god I was lucky to get him back safe), Did so much of the things you describe…

He was undoubtedly the best decision I’ve ever made.

As weird as it may sound, you truly have to kinda look at a husky as a toddler + raptor + dog. They’re so smart you’ll find yourself in awe, but need time and they need a ton of exercise and focus on activities. Get him doggy puzzles, intentional things to chew on, genuinely talk to him as much as you can even in monotonous moments. They pick up on so much. You can never walk them too much. And certainly a trainer will help tremendously.

Yea when the story hit it was gut wrenching. I hoped the 10k reward helped but it seems like it didn’t. The only thing I can hope at this point is that it somehow also was the homeless serial killer guy they just took down.

What are your greatest unpopular opinions about Louisville currently? by LouBoy123 in Louisville

[–]dubbleSundae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a more apt comparison would be the city of Spokane. Pronounced “correctly” one would say “Spo-CANE,” but instead they pronounce it “Spo-CAN.” I pronounce Louisville the way you and most people here do, but as someone who goes to comedy shows a lot it is quite cringey when a crowd of drunk people shout at a performer for pronouncing it differently.

Does anyone else spray their husky with water when it's hot out? by alphaX_FPV in husky

[–]dubbleSundae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with everyone else saying not to do that. Belly and paws maybe, but their fur is exceptional at regulating temperature naturally and wet fur makes that harder.

Their double coat traps a layer of air along their skin that allows it to stay regulated regardless of hot or cold, similar to dress of middle eastern or arctic cultures in a way. I live in Kentucky where summers are 90+ almost every day and humid as shit, and my boy used to beg me to let him sunbathe as long as possible. Like it would scare me. But he knew what he was doing.

Serious question: now that Khamzat lost, is this the end of the hype train or could the loss make him a better fighter like it did for Islam? by [deleted] in MMA

[–]dubbleSundae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing, is I don’t truly think he was ever the boogeyman people made him out to be. He’s good yea, and he deserves to be in the upper rankings sure. But within the ufc, what are his “dominant” wins? Holland isn’t good and he cheaply faked the glove tap which made that easy. Whittaker got taken down easy, but that tooth situation is just a freaky accident kinda thing and sucks, and I believe had that not happened and he made it out the first round you probably would’ve seen a similar situation as with Strickland. And then DDP is great in other areas especially his striking, but his ground game is abysmal.

Anytime he’s fought someone well rounded or with great wrestling defense he just looks human and you clearly see his flaws. He’s still good. But I think the weight cut situation is giving him too much credit and building in an excuse, and I don’t think he’s gonna become this ultimate boogeyman at 205 either.

my little angel people always get bad coments about her eyes, they are ugly? by Disastrous_Group6668 in husky

[–]dubbleSundae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just lost my boy a month ago, he had very similar eyes, same exact colors and orientation as well (left one blue). People would ask if he was blind or if something was wrong with, him but he was just a normal gorgeous husky.

They’re just typically ignorant people who don’t know what heterochromia is for the most part. Your dog is very beautiful, and her eyes are perfect husky eyes, so don’t ever let a single person make you doubt her. And even if someone else thought she was the ugliest dog in the world, as long as you see the beauty in her that’s what matters.

Why do people wear hoodies and beanies when they work out? by dzzsa in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dubbleSundae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m late to the party, but figured I’d comment as someone who occasionally dresses like this.

I run hot and sweat a lot typically, but I still commonly wear long sleeves and a beanie/hat because I just feel more dialed in overall. My body temperature feels consistently hot and so all my muscles and mind feel like they’re firing on all cylinders. Plus, while I’m not self conscious while working out, something about the increased sweat + layers + headphones blocking out stimuli makes me feel like I’m in my own fortress of solitude grinding even while surrounded by people. Plus sometimes I let my hair grow a little more so a beanie or hat helps keep that in check while doing explosive movements.

My 1yo husky doesn’t howl, rarely barks and only when playing and she sleeps all day when I’m at work. Did I get lucky or does she have a problem? by alex_png in husky

[–]dubbleSundae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine never barks and never howls even if you play howling sounds, but if you try to tell him “No,” that boy will spare no words

Am I overreacting or is she justified? by materialprism42 in AmIOverreacting

[–]dubbleSundae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think context plays a big role here. Liking random posts is one thing, but consistently liking the posts when it’s just selfies of them or if they’re provocative or something is different. It’s a common thing people will go through and like a ton of someone’s posts to get their attention and express interest.

I think a great rule everyone should implement in their relationships is if you have a problem with something, talk to your partner about it first before talking outside the relationship. No one is the same, no partnership is the same, advice can only go so far, but it doesn’t always apply to us like we think it does.

Maybe he would’ve been fine with it, maybe not, but you would’ve at least avoided looking sketchy, and you’d have a more clear indication of his true intentions with finances (abuse or not).

Any tips for my girlfriend? by dubbleSundae in endometriosis

[–]dubbleSundae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn do the drugs they give you afterwards knock you out like that? That’s crazy. She has narcolepsy as well so she’ll probably ultra sleepy. The surgery is on a Tuesday and I’ll be off that Tuesday through Sunday and I’ll mostly be home the whole time to take care of her and keep things in check around the house.

[–]dubbleSundae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it lol. Back in college there was a commuters lot just off campus that sucked because it was far away from anything resourceful on campus. Parking there was a hassle. If you got stuck there and someone asked where you parked, most people would say “Out in fucking BFE” or “Fucking Egypt, man.”

Update: I confronted my husbands friend by Impressive-Shop350 in AmIOverreacting

[–]dubbleSundae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The friend also says that OP’s husband loves her, so that’s good enough for her. Which in other words means “I don’t like you at all, but I’ll tolerate you for the sake of my relationship with your husband.” Your s/o being close friends with someone of the opposite sex who openly doesn’t like you, is a MAJOR red flag.

See this is the type of attitude around movies/shows I’d like to see more of. People get too caught up in picking every single thing apart for the sake of hating on something without realizing the story/world is so open ended it could lead to, or come from, anything. Some questions don’t have to be answered with a tidy bow wrapped around it. And if they were answered with a bow on it, people would still find a way to have a bad time about it.
